I would just keep in mind Target's return policy is a little restrictive do it might be difficult to return things especially if people don't give you gift receipts!

walmart has pretty much most of the same stuff as target, they have the same brand diapers, bouncers, strollers etc.

I feel like you have to do Walmart to make it easier on people. There has to be something there that you want/need. I like the idea of putting things like diapers, wipes, bath stuff etc, things that are the same everywhere.

@jessiejo17: I'm definitely going to do a Target one too - it just doesn't make sense not to now that I think about it!

@Coco Bee: I agree.
My friend registered at Bed Bath & Beyond for her wedding which is like 45mins away from me...and of course I waited until the DAY OF her shower to grab the gift...so I looked at the online registry and grabbed her gift from JCPenney. It was the same thing..same brand, color, size...Then I called BBB and told them and they took it off registry.

I would register where you want, I had this situaton as well and while I have some stuff to return to Walmart, several made the trip to Target or did online.

I registered at BRU and Amazon and some people were peeved I didn't register at target, so some people just looked at my registries and then chose items at Target that were the same (like the same brand of baby wash). that is an option

@tororojo: exactly! I'll keep it and we'll be better off in the long run and just leave it off of my other shower invites that are for people who are located near the Target and BRU!

I agree with @LivsMama, definitely keep the Walmart registry if you're positive that people will give you crap otherwise! If they're spending money on you, they might as well spend it on stuff you can use.

@LivsMama: Thanks! I've done a very basic one online for Walmart, and was thinking of deleting it but maybe I'll just keep it so there will be some sort of guide for those who go there!

@coacheswife123: no, you dont sound ungrateful, its definitely something to think about. If at your wedding shower they gave you a bunch of crap, make a registry at target for basic things. Diapers, Wipes, onesies, washcloths, tylenol/gas drops/dreft/etc. At least that way you get some stuff you need, but still keep teh good selection from BRU and Target

@tororojo: well - we did this with our wedding shower. BB&B and Target. and ended up getting just a bunch of stuff we didn't want/need at our shower. And it took forever to track down where some came from to try to return it. But, we could maybe just get them to do us a diaper shower or something! Can always use those!

I know I probably sound so ungrateful saying stuff we didn't want/need. We were so thankful people wanted to buy for us - but it turned into a hassle!

If you register at Target and not Walmart, do you think people who live near your parents would make the drive to BRUs/Target, or do you think they would give you random crap from Walmart? Or do you think they would give you money/gift cards? I think the only downside to not registering at a place near them is that it would be a huge bummer to get a bunch of Walmart stuff you don't want (which you can't control at all if you don't register there). That being said, I would still go for Target, myself, and just hope for gift cards from people who don't want to make the drive. :)

BRU and Target. Truthfully though, if that wont be your only shower, you could register for some stuff at WalMart then delete the registry after the shower. People will order online if they have to

So - I'm up in the air about what to do for our registry. My husband and I live in the city, and I've registered at Babies R Us. I'd also like to do a registry at Target, because I like their selection.

But, my parents live about 45 minutes away and in a much more rural area and the closest thing to them is Walmart. Normally, I wouldn't care a bit but I know we will have a shower there and a lot of our family and friends live in that area and it would be easier for them to go to Walmart than Target or Babies R Us. Some will order online, but most would probably would like to go in the store. But Walmart has a terrible selection!

3 registries would be crazy. So, should i register at Walmart and BRU or BRU and Target??!!
