I'm using My Registry and I don't think people can find it without the link.

I was able to keep mine private on Target but not on Babies R Us so we went with what the other posters suggested and put fake names until we were ready to share.
Seems to be the only option for some stores.

What I have done is just set up a private registry on Amazon and they have the option of adding items from any other website so I've just collected everything in one place and am slowly going through and editing as needed. You could do the same and just make the official BBB registry when you're ready.

Amazon let's you hide it. I would make a fake name for BBB.

Amazon lets you keep it private until your ready. I couldn't figure out how to do it with BBB or Babies r us

I did this too - at BBB you can choose to register under a fake name and then change to your real when you are ready to open it up to the public. So that is what we did and it worked out just fine.

My DH and I are (finally) getting around to setting up a registry, but we don't want people to see it until we're done, or at least settled with it. I have a vague memory that when we did our wedding registries, we had the option to keep the whole thing private or hidden until we wanted to show/publish it. I haven't been able to find that option on BBB. Anyone know if it exists, or if there's any way around people being able to see the registry before we're done?
