I don't know if PBK would do anything to discourage you from doing that. They probably don't even think much of it, since the completion discount is only 10%. 10% of a $600 crib is them only losing out on $60, but gain $540!). I plan on doing this with ours as well. We'll be purchasing a majority of the items, but put them on our registry to get the completion discount since regular coupons exclude a bunch of brands. Savings is savings when it comes to kids!

I would talk to someone in the store. When I was there, the nursery "specialist" told me that basically, once I register, I can buy anything from my registry myself with the 10% discount, it wasn't like BBB when you have a one shot deal to use the completion discount. I don't know if that's the official policy, but I bet they are willing to do it pretty often.

I haven't actually purchased anything there yet, though, and I'm only getting smaller things like sheets, not furniture. But he definitely said it would work on furniture.

I have what might be a stupid question. DH and I planning to buy all of our nursery furniture from PBK. My very generous parents have offered to give us money for the crib and dresser, and we can go buy them whenever we want. We also have a bunch of other stuff we want to buy there.

So anyways, my question is, if we buy one thing that's on sale now (the dresser) and none of the rest of it until we get our registry discount, is there anything PBK would do to discourage us from doing that? It would probably be another $2k worth of merchandise.

Is there something I'm missing, or this totally feasible? Oh, and we'll probably move up the due date on the registry.
