You never know how long you'll actually use it, so I say go for it. I would just be worried about getting a used car seat. If the car was in an accident with the seat in it you're supposed to buy a new seat in case there's damage that you don't know about. Do you think that's weird to register for a non-infant carseat? Is that gift grubbing? </p>
