@Mamaof2: she has been waking up a lot at night and when we go in to her room, it's really cold. So I think that's part of the problem. But since the two pairs of pjs seems to be working ok I guess it is almost the same thing. She's also a climber so if there was something that discourages her from trying to scale the crib that would be nice. :)

How is a sleep sack different from what you are doing now? Would you take off the fleece sleeper or put the sleep sack on over it?

My kids bedrooms are cold in the winter - 62 degrees and they slept in cotton footed sleeper and a fleece footed sleeper over that (as the blanket) and some nights they were sweaty.

I don't see any reason to change what you are doing now - I have learned that just because I am cold doesnt mean my kids are

@Foodnerd81: it's the biggest size, so it must be the up-to-18-months one. It fits her perfectly now, with no room to grow really (well, she probably has an inch or two, but it won't fit next year). She was 32 (edited--32.5!) inches at her 18 months appointment.

We've always used a sleep sack for LO since he kicks off all blankets. Baby Dee Dee has a heavier one that we use for winter:

@ballerinabee: c is definitely a climber so that's another plus for the sleep sack. She's short which is the only thing keeping her in the crib right now.

@Anagram: do you know what size your IKEA one is? It looks like they only go up to 6-18 months on the website. C is 17 months now but short so maybe it would still work.

I should note that we put the sleep sack on him backwards as a toddler so he couldn't unzip it and get out by himself. It wasn't too tight around his neck that way because he's a peanut, but the pediatrician said you can cut the neck a little and do an easy stitch to keep it from coming apart to give them a little more neck room if necessary.

We reintroduced the sleep sack once it got cold out. At first DS freaked out until we got the ones with the feet that @Ree723: linked to. We also put it on at the same time we put on his pj's so he just thought it was part of his pj's. This is the only way we could get it back on him with out him trying to rip it off.

@Foodnerd81: We re-introduced the sleep sack the first time C climbed out of his crib. It kept him in the crib for quite a few months after that. We finally had to transition to a toddler bed when he used his arms to press himself up and flipped over the side (little monkey!!). But, he didn't mind the sleep sack at all, and even though it didn't have feet, he could walk in it a little in his crib, so he didn't fuss.

@Foodnerd81: we reintroduced a sleep sack this winter. We got the walker kind from halo so her feet go through the holes and she likes it. She wants to wear it every night!

@Foodnerd81: we've been still using a sleep sack all along, so no advice about that, but the IKEA winter sleep sacks are really, really great. They are thick like a sleeping back and cheap! I have an Ikea thick sleep sack and the more expensive baby Dee Dee, and I actually prefer the Ikea one.

We kept the Dee Dee for next winter though, because the large is super super long, and the Ikea one prob won't fit next year because it's perfect now.

Can't recommend it enough! I don't know what the filling is, but the inside and outside are cotton, which I prefer over fleece.

We reintroduced a fleece sleep sack in winter too, didn't phase LO at all. We also started "blanket training" over the sleep sack to get him used to the idea and now he leaves it on all night so we can stop using the sleep sack after this winter and start moving towards a toddler bed with blankets.

What about trying a sleep sack with legs? I believe Halo makes one and it shouldn't cause any disruption to her sleep as she will still be able to stand when she wants etc.

We re-introduced a (fleece) sleep sack this winter for the same reason and it has been working great. I'm also not comfortable with a space heater in a small room, but with the sleep sack and our regular house heater set at 62 she sleeps so much better!

I posted previously about space heaters for C's room, but I'm just really nervous about that idea, and her room is so small that you can't actually place anything 3 feet from everything else. So...

Right now we have c in fleece footed pjs with regular cotton long sleeve pjs underneath. We give her a blanket but she kicks it off. I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck reintroducing a fleece sleep sack?

Or tell my about this super safe way to hear her room that I haven't thought of. We started leaving her door open after we go to bed but it's definitely not ideal with the layout of our condo.
