@hilsy85: OMG!! This is my fear!! I'm already prone to clogged ducts (it's like a weekly thing now, but previously, it was like a daily thing!) and am always praying that I don't get mastitis since it can be DAYS before my clogged ducts get unclogged. *shudders*

I think Mrs. Tricycle blogged about getting mastitis after lying on her boobs while having a massage! I would definitely lie on my side.

@JerricaBenton: @Corduroy: @Foodnerd81: Thanks for your input ladies! I'll inquire and see if one of the therapist specializes in prenatal. Now to get the hubster to watch DS long enough for me to go...

I had one about 4 months pp and didn't have any problems. The massage therapist happened to also be certified in prenatal massage, so I think she was pretty in tune with that kind of stuff anyway, and she asked if I wanted her to lay a towel down under the sheet in case I leaked, which was nice. She also used unscented lotion/oil just in case. I fed LO before hand and didn't have any discomfort even towards the end, nor did I actually leak.

It felt amazing. I would highly recommend it!

How does it feel when you lie on your stomach now? I think if you can do it comfortably you would be fine.

I got a 60 min massage while I had a clogged duct. Probably not the best idea but it was mother's day and I woke up at 3am in so much pain - I was not going to skip the massage and miss the highlight of my day. I didn't even notice the pain of the clogged duct during the massage. I would think you'd be good.

At 11 mos pp it's not super uncomfortable to lay on my front but in the beginning when I had a massage I brought a few burp cloths and made a little nest for my boobs so they weren't squished against the table. I was comfortable. You could bring one to lay on in case of leakage. You could always ask the massage therapist to just massage you in prenatal position, on your sides.

I'm dying for a spa treatment like a nice lengthy massage, but I'm breastfeeding. I'm afraid of laying on my belly/boob for an extended amount of time will cause clogged ducts (I'm super prone to them) and/or I'll be leaking. I know I can pump before I go, but have you had any issues going to a massage while breastfeeding? Does your boobs hurt from laying on them? How do I avoid getting a clogged duct?
