Distance to family<br /> 6. Community feel (I just think this is captured by this point). </p> <p>We bought our house and identified the top 3 parts of town to live in. From there we ruled out #1 because it was too expensive and too far from downtown and our friends and family. We started looking at area #2 and found a great neighborhood we wanted to be in. We double checked and made sure it was close to things like grocery stores, etc and we were sold. Ugh, I can't believe I didn't research this area more thoroughly before my husband started applying for jobs, but it has a reputation for being safe, conservative and family-friendly. Certain neighborhoods are really good, but the overall area is not so good. Our subdivision has a mix of retired folks and people with school aged children. We're about 30 minutes from DH's family.
