She was a WWII widow--her first husband was killed on the beaches of Normandy on Dday. Here's a picture of my mom's dad in Korea (he's in the middle).</p> <p>Interesting story, I was in Grade 9 Social Studies (history/geography class) and I opened my textbook and found this exact picture!
