Can you have someone come out to give you an estimate? It might be easier if you have a few quotes to go by and you can show your landlord the actual cost and what the product would look like and if there are any guarantees on it. That's a huge expense that I may or may not recoup the value of. Our rental property already had a fence, so if the tenant mentioned repairs to the fence, that we would do. We like our current rental house but it lacks a fenced in yard, which is pretty important (we moved in because we had a few days to find a place, I was 39 weeks pregnant when we moved in). Because of this, I wouldn't mind moving. I mean, I don't want to move our stuff, but I want the fenced in yard because we have a dog plus I would love for LO to be able to run around the yard without worrying about her running into the front and into the street.</p> <p>DH thinks we should ask the landlord to put one in to see if he will. He said he thinks offering to pay for part of it would actually be cheaper for us than moving to a whole new house.</p> <p>Is this a reasonable thing to ask? I mean, the worst he can say is no, right? </p>
