My only advice is that the negatives associated with antibiotics are probably lower than that of premature birth. I had my lo at 25 weeks, probably due to infection... So my best is advice is to do what your doc thinks is best and then try not to worry to much further (impossible I know).

Has anyone had reoccurring UTIs during pregnancy? I've done 3 cycles of antibiotics without complete success. My doctor says that if this test comes back positive she'll put me on a daily antibiotic for suppression. I'm nervous about taking a lot of antibiotics during pregnancy - and equally nervous about continuing to have UTIs. Both seem to have similar negative side effects - low birthweight babies and higher risk of premature births. Yuck. Have been drinking straight cranberry juice (also yuck) and trying to drink more water, but the medical journal articles say that these methods don't really seem to help. Any experiences or suggestions?
