You likely should plan on replacing it and not using it again. Car seats that don't need to be replaced are the exception not the rule (britax mainly). Only the manufacturer can tell you for sure what constitutes a crash. We had an evenflo replaced for a parking lot crash.

I would wait to hear from the manufacturer for sure. I believe most time it needs to be replaced.

Yep. You need to wait for word from the manufacturer. I think Britax is one of the most lenient when it comes to replacement, but many require it no matter what.

My parked car was hit over the weekend. There is damage to the side bumper on the drivers side (it has come away from the vehicle) so it was more then just a tap but still relatively minor (especially according to nhtsa standards. I wasn't in the car so I don't know how hard it was hit. My car seat manual says to replace after any crash. My question is, does this incident qualify as a crash that I need to replace the seat for? I know insurance will cover it but my husband and o are disagreeing if it is necessary. I am waiting to hear back from the manufacturer. The car seat was on the passenger side.
