I had a lot of restless leg issues in high school--it was so awful. Iron helps me quite a bit, as my issues seemed tied to anemia. But if you're experiencing the symptoms, walking, stretching, etc, really helps.

I had them so bad too! I didn't find a solution but fortunately they went away after the pregnancy.

@LBee: Ahh, stretching! Why didn't I think of that?

@yellowbird: ELECTRIC BLANKET. Genius! :grin:

@catlady: Thanks for your input! I hope it's the same for me. :) Another month of this seems long enough...hope it doesn't last any longer!

I got this too! No advice about dealing with it now but just wanted to let you know that mine went away pretty much immediately after I gave birth.

I am struggling with this as well I had it last pregnancy and it didn't become unbearable, but it was so uncomfortable. I get it in the evenings the most while trying to relax. It hasn't woken me up at night yet. Laying down with a warm blanket and sometimes tylenol will help.

Stretching my calves / legs before bed really helped me. Mine went away as quick as they came - hope this is the case for you!

@Ash: Good call. I think I need to get like five more heating pads...haha. Mine is kind of small and I usually use it on my lower back. I feel like I need one for my butt, for my legs, the list goes on. :)

@Smurfette: Oooh, I have some magnesium at home that my MW suggested for leg cramps that ended up going away on their own. How much did you take?

And the walking sounds like a good plan, and makes total sense. We've been meaning to get out more (it's so hard when it gets dark so early!) so now would be a good time.

I have it all the time but it was worse during pregnancy. Magnesium helped some but the best thing was working out, even just walking, 4-5 times a week.

Anybody struggle with restless legs during pregnancy? I'm 35+5 today, and over the past week it's been getting pretty bad. Mostly it's been at night (as if sleeping isn't hard enough) but it's starting to happen at work, too.

Any suggestions for preventing/making it better?
