@Foodnerd81: When I leaked really bad I would double up. One of the TLC ones and a bamboobie on top.

@Foodnerd81: By the time I was using them I was leaking very little, with no random letdowns. So I can't really speak to how effective they were for heavy "flow" (haha). But maybe you could try with the bamboobies backing them up with disposables? That way if they don't leak, you can reuse those disposables the next night.

@mrs. wagon: thanks for the thorough review! We're those enough to wear at night? The regular bamboobies were not, at least for now! I'm so glad I got a free sample and didn't spend $40 to find that out.

@Foodnerd81: Ok. I saw this post last night and waited until this morning to respond because I wanted to tell you everything!!

I think I have bought (and used, and thrown away) a total of over 20 boxes of 60 ct lansinoh nursing pads in the past 4 years. Horror. I was like you-- not much leaking anymore but I didn't want to risk showing leaks. I wear an unpadded bra so there's no room for error with me!!

I did A TON of research before purchasing a set off of Amazon. I didn't want to spend too much in case I had to go back to disposables, but I also didn't want to end up with five different kinds of reusable pads. But I also did NOT want to spend an arm and a leg for something I'd only use for a few months total in my life (and would not try to resell-- ew!!).

I ended up ordering these:

http://amzn.to/19lxaLj

I really loved them!! It comes with 8 so since I do laundry at least twice a week, I just threw them into the kid laundry basket and washed them with the kids clothes. (cold wash, low temp dry) I dried them too and they held up just fine.

They do make a not perfectly smooth boob look, so if you wear really tight, spandex-type shirts they may not work for you. But I wore them under a coobie bra (basically a spandex bralette) and I never had problems with it looking bad under clothes. Most of my clothes are pretty loose on top. Also, I liked the lace backing because it 1) looked pretty and delicate, and 2) gave some traction on the bra so they didn't slide around too much.

Hope this helps!!! I still have them in my bathroom... I kind of miss them.

I have a few kinds... evenflo which are really thick and noticeable so I only use them at night... gerber from Target which are pretty thin and some "organic" ones I got at Buy Buy Baby. The last are the best ones. Oh, and I have some LilyPadz when all else fails, although I only use those when the others show through or when I can't wear a bra under a formal dress or something.

These are fine, and much more absorbent than bamboobies. A little unsightly during the day but good for night:

I used my sample bamboobies last night and wouldn't you know C had her longest sleep ever- 9 1/2 hours. Bamboobies could not handle that! I have tons of flannel receiving blankets so I may cut one of those up for now and see how it goes. Cloth diaper is a great idea.

I used these TLC ones and the bamboobies and loved both. I liked the bamboobies for daytime b/c they didn't show through my clothes and the TLC ones for nighttime. I hated disposable pads!

I used reusuable ones and I loved them. I only had four though so I had to swap out the disposable ones while I washed them. I am not sure of the brand name.

I got rid of mine after I got thrush! My LC said they didn't wick away enough moisture. FWIW, they were Bamboobies. Boo to Bamboobies!

I just used pieces of flannel cut up. I definitely DO NOT recommend the wool ones that you don't wash very often. They contributed to an intense case of thrush that would not quit.

I bought reusable ones but ended up throwing them out. I used them for almost 3 months. They just don't come clean enough and start to get gross.

I like the cloth diaper idea.

If you buy a cloth diaper and cut it into pieces, you then can wash them, and reuse them. Pretty cheap and simple. If you're into that kind of thing. :)

I don't leak a lot and can get away without nursing pads during the day for the most part, but at night I still need some kind of nursing pad. I am almost out of the disposable ones I got in the beginning and I'm thinking some reusable/washable ones will be good for going forward (I remember reading they aren't quite as good at preventing leaks as disposables, but that should be fine at this point).

Any recommendations? I actually got a free sample pair of Bamboobies-- seriously the store gave me a sample to check them out! Any experience? They feel a lot softer than the disposables but the pack of them was $42. That's more than I expected!
