It is the thickest silicone I've seen and dishwasher safe. I think it's overkill for many things though, and they don't come very big.</p> <p>For snacks to take places I use bumkins, especially for the kids. They are cloth so they don't hold water or keep things from going stale, but they smash into lunch boxes really well. They also clean easily. </p> <p>Target (and amazon) also sell Full Circle gallon bags. These fit a whole homemade loaf of bread! I also have one with a kid's puzzle in it because my kid destroyed the box. They aren't as thick as Stasher which makes them more pliable. I ordered a couple more yesterday when they were on Prime as a lightning deal. You can get 20% off on the Stasher website for your first purchase if you take a pledge to reduce plastic waste, too. I am looking to cut some of our plastic usage down and sandwich/snack bags are a big part of that problem I buy foods in bulk and store them in portions with them and I pack various components of my lunch with them. I am looking for something that is easy to wash and at least freezer safe, it doesn't have to be microwave safe. </p>
