I am Leo DiCaprio's biggest fan, but couldn't see myself watching The Revenant. We both loved The Big Short - so smartly made! You do have to pay attention and it's not super action-oriented, but a great movie. Smart dialogue, great acting! How can you go wrong with Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, and Steve Carrell??</p> <p>But... if The Revenant were DH's dream movie and he really wanted to see it, I would probably choose that. I'd say the Big Short though. I usually don't mind gore/violence but the Revenant was brutal and so intense. I thought it was entertaining, funny, interesting. Took a little while to get into it as the filming style is a bit different. But really enjoyed it! </p> <p>The Revenant is really good too! But yea there is violence and can be a bit slow at times. I lean toward the big short but the revenant is dh's movie dream come true... I worry I'll have to watch it through my fingers the whole time as I'm not great with violence. </p> <p>Did you see these movies? Was the revenant hard to sit through? I'd love to go just for DH as he's been so amazingly supportive and incredible lately. But... Bears. </p>
