@caitlanc: yeah I'm actually going to return it. I called and talked to target and explained, there's a big baby sale starting Sunday so it's kind of a blessing!

@babypenguinxo - A cousin passed on their Eddie Bauer and I lost track of how many times I tried to install it RF (in my CR-V with very flat seats) and failed to get it in right. Finally I got pissed, went inside, googled "easiest car seat to install" and ordered the Chicco NextFit from amazon. (We have and love the KeyFit so that helped the decision.) TOTALLY WORTH IT.

Once L could be FF the Eddie Bauer became our secondary car seat. Neither of us like it compared to the Chicco though. The straps are a lot more difficult to tighten and it doesn't provide as much head/neck support for comfortable napping. We'll actually move the big, clunky NextFit into the truck rather than use the Eddie Bauer for longer drives.

Have you tried re-installing the seat following the instructions in the manual exactly? Is there anything under the seat (towel, seat protector etc)? I would definitely contact a tech to get some pro advice or you could check out Carseats for the Littles on Facebook.

Did you head to the fire station to have them check it??

Our latch is too hard for me to get tight. Dh has to do it! And it shouldn't wobble so much for sure!

Try seatbelt install instead of latch. Also get help from a tech asap! It doesn't sound safe.

@pinkb: yep I did do that! Pushed down to get all the slack out! I'm not sure if maybe it's the seat with our car or what but man I think I'll be getting a new one!

We had to do what @pinkb: described. We don't have that seat, but in order to get our seat securely in our car DH usually has me push down on the seat while he tightens the straps.

I have read that sometimes you might have to put extra weight on the seat to get it tight enough. (not necessarily that exact seat but in general) I have seen videos on youtube where they put their knee in it to tighten the straps down to make sure there isnt a lot of movement. If you still cant get a good install I would get a different seat you are comfortable with.

Are you sure you have the bottom set for RF? I know some car seats have platforms that you have to flip under for RF and turn out when FF (regardless of LATCH). My husband didn't realize this with his seat and it was wobbly until fixed.

@Foodnerd81: it's from Target. I have a certified tech friend. But I don't think that's the iSsue the latch system seems pretty food proof. It's as tight as it will go, I had men tighten it! Lol but I'll ask her!

If I couldn't get a secure install (and that does not sound secure) I would return it and get a different one. Did they but it from a baby store or Eddie bauer directly? I'd rather store credit and to buy one that worked in my car.

You could first try and see if a car seat tech could install it for you.

We have an Eddie bauer convertible seat. It was gifted to us and I tried to encourage them to buy one that I had my eye on but I think it was a little more then I wanted. They ordered it online and did store pick up with me as the alternate pick up, so I was worried returning it would notify them with a receipt or something.

Anyways, the seat is incredibly wobbly. It's on the passenger side because we have baby 2 coming soon. It uses the Latch system. But it goes crooked and lopsided while he's in it, and I'll go to get him out and he will be leaning terribly. It's tightened all it can go. But this seems incredibly unsafe?

It's this normal? Or is this seat just not well made and stable?

If this isn't right, would you be trying to return it without a receipt and get a new one? Obviously if this isn't safe I want to get a new seat ASAP.
