same here, B-
DS is AB+
Since pre-e can be due to an allergy-like reaction to the placenta they mentioned that the Rh- factor could have something to do with it too but otherwise my pregnancy wasn't too dramatic :)

@Pink Champagne: Yep, you're exactly right, I'm only 7 weeks along. I guess they usually don't do the RhoGam shot until later (and sometimes not until after you deliver), but because I had some light bleeding, they were concerned that it was because of my Rh-Negative blood! Apparently they like to give the shot within 72 hours of the bleeding. I started bleeding on Tuesday, and they found out about my blood today, so I HAD to get it tonight, haha. Hopefully the rest of my pregnancy will be a lot less eventful than this week has been!

Um, yeah.. But I don't know why they stressed you out by making it seem like ohmygodifyoudontgettheshotrightnowyourbabywilldie.
I didn't get my rhoGam shot until like, 28 weeks. It's seriously not the urgent, life threatening thing they made it out to be. I'm assuming since you were checking for viability that you're only 8-12 weeks along. I mean, I'm sure all health care providers do what they think is best, but I think if it were that urgent of a health matter, I wouldn't have been allowed to wait so long to get mine.
I'm sorry you had to go through all that though :( what a load of unnecessary stress!!

I had major bleeding early on in my pregnancy and after ruling out m/c they thought I might be RH-. Fortunately I'm not, but I did learn you only need a couple shots at different stages of pregnancy and you are good to go!

yup! I am - I just got my Rhogam shot at 28 weeks, though. I was surprised by how little it hurt and how I wasn't sore after! I felt like I was more sore after the flu shot!

Oh my gosh, ladies, I have had such a crazy day! As many of you know, this morning I went to my first ultrasound to check for viability and discovered that everything was totally fine and healthy with my baby!

WELL... 8 hours later, I get an urgent call from my doctor's office. My blood test results are back and I'm Rh-Negative. Since we don't know what blood type my husband is, I had to get an injection of Rh Immune Globulin or else risk developing antibodies that could attack the fetus or prevent me from being able to get pregnant again! Since it was almost 5:00 (which is when my doctor's office closes), I ended up having to go to the hospital to get the shot. Well, they were in the middle of a bunch of c-sections and deliveries, so I ended up having to wait for THREE HOURS before I could get the shot!

But I finally got it and am FINALLY back home! I'm hoping this one week alone is enough pregnancy drama to last me a lifetime!!!

Anyone else Rh-Negative and have to deal with this fun?
