Now I give my 14 month old regular oatmeal with fruit in it. I try to stay away from rice now because of the reports of arsenic in rice, even in organic and organic brown rice. Scary ! If I make porridge or anything with rice for him I use sprouted brown rice from Thailand - supposedly less arsenic in rice from Thailand.
