@jape14: they havent had mini marshmallows yet! Great idea!

@Foodnerd81: target is my friend! I’m heading there tomorrow!

@LadyDi: I’ll look for glow sticks at the dollar store! Awesome!

@MrsLonghorn: who knew that goldfish smell!! Ha! My boys are so messy that I’d have to get the non-cheesy kind since they will manage to stain their outfit!

Thanks everyone!

We will be doing something very similar later this summer.... DH is the only one in the wedding, but it will take place in Italy during DS' normal dinner time and will be 1/2 in Italian. DS is almost-4, so I need to plan for this!!

We attended my Grandmother's funeral when DS was 2 -- I brought goldfish and a water wow book, and he did GREAT. However, my uncle made a snarky comment afterward that he could smell the goldfish, and will now forever associate that smell with his mother's funeral. So, you might want to think about how smelly and noisy the snack is too....apparently goldfish are not good.

I was in a wedding in June with my 3yo. I took fruit snacks, gold fish and granola bars. I also bought him new water wow books and a few of those little activity packs...the ones with a couple of crayons, stickers and a coloring book.

The dj at the wedding had glow sticks and this blinking led light tube thing and let DS hand them out on that dance floor. The glow sticks kept him entertained literally for hours.

I hit up the Target dollar zone before my 2 and 4 year olds were flower girls in my sisters wedding. Made them each a bag full of toys and activities. I got some little sticker and gel pen activity books, some small toy shaped erasers (dinosaurs), a lacing card set for the 4 year old, water wow books. Another thing my now almost 5 yo really likes is a highlights sticker puzzle book. She works on them pretty independently.

For snacks I like the honey flavored Annie’s bunnies- can leave crumbs but they won’t stain and aren’t greasy.

Best snack/treat for bribery that won't stain, doesn't change their mouths different colors, and doesn't leave crumbs = mini marshmallows! They are my secret weapon for any and all situations involving photos with toddlers/preschoolers.

My SIL’swedding is in a couple of weeks and my entire family is in the wedding party. I am planning a busy bag of sorts to entertain my 2 and 5 year old boys. The ceremony is in the evening, around their normal dinnertime. For those who have had their kids be in weddings, any fun suggestions, favorite items, or snacks you recommend?

I was thinking:
Snacks (that won’t stain their gray outfit)
Static stickers (from Melissa and Doug)
Maze book for 5 year old
New matchbox cars
