@lydg: I got a faker eternity band that matches my real band to wear since my fingers swelled up - it actually looks really good!

I got it from Overstock and it was only around $24!

I would wait until maybe the weather cools down? My rings fit the week I got back home (a bit snug) and went back to normal within a couple of months.

If they're not fitting by the new year I would go ahead and get them resized.

I would definitely wait! It wasn't until 2 1/2 mths pp that my wedding band fit again & I'm still waiting for my e-ring 6 mths pp (it was 1/2 a size smaller). If it still doesn't fit at Christmas then we'll resize it.

@mrsjumprope I have a feeling it would cost a bit too. I took my ring a couple years ago to get cleaned at one of the best jewelers here, probably the only place I would trust with my ring--and it was $50!! I couldn't believe it.

I'll just keep doing finger workouts until my fingers shrink. ;-) Kidding y'all!

@lydg: My e-ring and wedding band have pave diamonds along the band and on the sides. It's very intricate and I was worried we'd have problems with re-sizing.

I took it to a reputable jeweler in town, and it cost $200 for the resizing. Expensive, yes, but I was going nuts over not wearing my rings for so long! They explained the process to me and said that my rings won't be perfectly round, but their process helps eliminate the possibility of the diamonds coming loose. In other words, they expanded the ring down instead of out. Does that make sense?

If you're only 1 month PP, I'd wait a bit. Over time my fingers got smaller, but they're 1/2 size larger than they were before. I'm 20lbs less than the last time I had my rings on, so I think it's safe for me to say my hands aren't going to get any smaller!

@lydg: what about something like this? $5, simple, but still cute.

Wait a little longer. With my first, I don't think I fit back into my ring until my 6th month; but with my second it was more like 1 or 2 months. It'll also get better with the cooler weather too.

Grrr...it's hard to wait! I probably will. I'm afraid I'll get it resized and then (eventually) my fingers will go back to normal. Scared to try on all my shoes after almost 20 weeks of massive swelling!

I don't have a band, just the ring alone. It's a cathedral setting and has pave on the sides so it sounds like I'm better off waiting. Anyone know of a place where I can get a pretty , inexpensive, single band to wear?

Wait a bit longer. I tried mine on at about that time and they didn't fit, but at 2 months they are fine.

I had mine resized at 6 months pp because I couldn't stand not wearing them. Now at 9 months they're way too big, I wish I had waited.

@lydg: My ering was always a little too small to comfortably get over my knuckle. It is thicker than my wedding band, so even though they're the same size, my ering would scrape my knuckle going on and off. Since my fingers have swollen a little, my finger felt "suffocated" just knowing what a struggle it'd be to get my ering over my knuckle. I went ahead and got it resized a half size up, because I figure that it'll last me for the next 1 or 2 pregnancies here in the next few years. I am MUCH happier! The only bummer was that it cost $80 to have it resized! It was still worth it, but I was surprised it was so expensive. I have a Tacori engagement ring and I thought resizing was covered but it is not, so definitely check on that before you make your decision!

What kind of band is it? Are there lots of small stones in the band part? Pave types of rings are really delicate & it's not great to resize them much because it can make the stones more likely to come out, but a solitaire with a plain band would be pretty simple to resize & if you needed it smaller in the future you could make it smaller again. I resized my pave ring & a couple months later 2 diamonds went missing from it because they became loose after the resizing :(

@lydg: I'm 11.5 months PP, and my rings still don't fit. I wore my rings well into my second trimester, and I'm now 8lbs below my pre-pregnancy weight. My rings still don't fit! I bit the bullet & had them re-sized a few weeks ago. I'm so glad I did!

I still can't wear my wedding ring 1 mo pp...it won't fit over my first knuckle. I can't decide to get it resized in hopes that my fingers will go back to the old size or not.
