I love my Maya ring sling. I've used it with DD since birth and still occasionally use it for quick trips where I don't want her running around like a crazy woman. She's almost 2 and 26lbs.

Still use mine all the time and DS is going to be 11 months next week. He weighs 23 lbs. it's definitely for quick and easy ups like at the store when I don't want to bother with putting him in the cart or stroller. I agree with pp that there's a learning curve but I love my ring sling and so does DS! I would recommend buying used bc the more broken in it is, the easier it is to use. The fb group babywearing on a budget has everything for under $100 and is a great place to start!

I use my ring sling all the time. It does take some time to get used to it but once you break it in I think it's great. It's easy to pop E in and out. It's not as comfortable for long walks but I use it daily for grocery store trips or other adventures that are less than an hour of wearing.

Love my ring sling for easy ups. Mine lives in my car for quick trips into the store and situations when I knew she would want to alternate between stroller or walking and being held. I got it around 6 months and wish I had it sooner. It didn't get tons of use with DD1 but I knew I'd be having a second so it was worth it.

We survived with the Moby wrap, then ergo and now toddler Tula. I got a ring sling around 10 mo for hip carries and still keep it in the car as my backup carrier (and LO at 2 yo is NOT small). I want to use it right away with LO2 and might even upgrade :)

I just started using mine and I really love it so far! I can't comment on the age of your LO and whether it would be worth it since my LO is only 2.5 weeks old and seems to love it.

I loved my ring sling when my daughter was tiny, but I stopped using it around 7-8 months because I didn't find it as comfortable as my Beco.

I love my ring sling. I used it as my only form of baby wearing with dd1 and used it past one- she was a big baby though and just got too heavy. I use it a ton with my 5 month old, too and don't see that changing. Especially around the house. I find it comfortable and easy to use. I can't compare it to any other carrier though.

I got one when my DD was about that age for similar reasons, and scarcely used it. DD didn't like it, and I didn't find it comfortable. Plus, the color I ordered looked way different in person and wasn't really my style. So for me, it was pretty much a bust. I'd recommend seeing if someone has one you can try before you buy your own.

I'm potentially looking to purchase a ring sling for baby wearing at home and for easy access situations. I have a boba wrap and ergo baby 360 that i mainly use when out and about, but I feel like I need a second person to get my
lo in it and to get it on me.

So, what is your experience of them and would it be worth it for an almost 6 month old baby?
