Yeah, RLP is very stabby, even that early. At 37 weeks, it's still stabby, but also achy. It's much worse for the second pregnancy (and beyond!)

Sounds like RLP. I had it super early, too! It didn't get remarkably worse until the 3rd trimester, when it hurt to roll over in bed or stand up suddenly.

I always got it when I coughed or sneezed, and you're right, it's very stabby.

@BakerBee, @swurlygurl, @MamaMoose: Thanks, ladies!

I am a little afraid that if I'm getting it this early, I may be in for a rough ride. :silly: Oh well, doesn't seem to me much to do for it!

I had read about RLP, but wasn't expecting it to be quite so... stabby? At least I can relax a little about it, and don't have to worry that my uterus is going to be exploding out of my body or anything!

Yup, that's it. Even in my first tri it hurt like a mother f'er whenever I would cough or sneeze.

I got RLPs really early (6ish weeks) with my 2nd pregnancy. I don't remember how early I got them with my 1st, but I remember it still being in the first trimester. It was always really bad when I would stretch out my torso from arching my back.

If you're getting them this early, it's going to be a fun pregnancy for you... ;)

It sounds like RLP - in the beginning (I think 12 weeks?) I only got it when I was laying down and would either cough or sneeze. Not at 18 weeks, it's my bestie.

ETA: Each pregnancy is unique, so just because Dr. Google says its not usually until second trimester doesn't mean you aren't already feeling it. But always call if something is going on that makes you nervous!

So I wasn't able to call my OB until about 3 minutes after they closed, so I'm wondering if the lovely Bees can offer any insight!

I'm 10w3d, and this morning I woke up on my right side in bed and coughed. I experienced a really sharp pain right next to my right hip bone. I was really surprised, so I rolled over, and then had a similar (but milder) pain in the exact same spot on my left side.

Is this round ligament pain? It seems to be from internet searches, but all the websites say it shows up in the second trimester. Is it possible to have it in the latter part of your first?

I haven't really had any sharp pains since, but my hips feel a little tender, almost like a pulled muscle. I'll be calling my OB in the morning, but I was hoping that somebody here might have some experience in this!
