This is not going well. It gets better, right?

Down: 8pm
Up: 9pm, 11pm, 12am, 3am
At 3am, i finally put her in her RnP. She slept until 6:30

Night 4:

Down at 8:45. Took a little to get her to relax in the crib...we actually set her in the RnP and then transferred her. She isn't ready to be set down in her crib sleepy but awake
11 - DH checked on her found her face down in her crib and he rolled her over
1230-fussing, ate 2 ounces. wanted to play, gave her the paci, she went back to sleep
415-paci
6-up for the day

So...it *is* getting better. She's also eating less at night. Down to 2 ounces the second or third night in a row.

We went cold turkey, she was restless in her crib for about 3 nights and then adjusted and sleeps in there great now! We were getting to the point that the RnP was just too small for her, and I was scared she would fall out too!

@lazylightning, 20 weeks I think?

Operation Crib is going well! Hopefully by this weekend, it is no big deal!

We have been putting her down for a couple naps naps AND bedtime sleep in the crib. She napped okay in her crib this weekend and DH put her down in the crib at 8pm last night...she woke up at 6pm for a snack (her typical top-off before we go to sleep), then slept in there until 3:00, I put her paci back in, then up at 4:15, and that's when I moved her to the RnP because I didn't want her fighting sleep until 6. We want to lengthen that early morning wake up time, but that's a battle for another day. She slept until 6:45 in her RnP though! She prefers to sleep on her side or stomach.

We're all getting better sleep now that she's in another room :)

It took us about three nights before the crib was normal
We don't do naps there yet, just night sleep. It was a rough transition but we just decided to tough it out.

Oh, the RnP to crib transition...brings back memories! My twins loved the RnP, but at 8 months, my DS was growing too big and my DD would try to grab the sides and pull herself out, so we were forced to transition to the crib.

I thought the transition would last forever, but they eventually got used to the crib after a few weeks...very long weeks.

For the first couple days, I tried inclining the crib mattress and making a little nest of towels under the sheet to give the inclined and closed-in feel of the RnP, but what ultimately worked was putting them down on their tummies to sleep...i watched them like hawks until I realized that they were ok that way.

Just be consistent with whatever you choose and know that they will get used to the crib, even though right now, it may not seem that way!

@blackbird: How old is your LO? I thought she was the same age as mine but she looks so big trying to climb out of there! (Mine's 12.5 weeks).

To answer your question, we lucked out (well, that's relative... but it did help with crib transition)- LO stopped liking the RnP by about a month. She much prefers a flat surface where she can stretch and roll around.

It happens haha.

She did good I think! Asleep in her bed until 1 maybe and then she slept in the crib until 5 (a 4 hour stretch is a win!) then fussy and awake at 5, so back into the RnP with her paci to sleep until 645 (1!!). We are also trying to stop the habitual 5am wake up...one thing at a time.

At least *I* am sleeping harder/better with her in another room ;)

@blackbird: Ah, the letting her fall asleep in the RnP and then transferring to crib method! We used to use that method with pretty good success, only, in our case we'd let her fall asleep in the swing and then transfer to the PnP. Did it every night until we went through a regression around 13 weeks, then we gave in and let her sleep in the swing all night...and that's where we still are now at 17 weeks... *hangs head in shame*

Good luck! I hope you all get some good sleep tonight!

@smurfette, I might help! I just think she will, at some point, roll right down into the walls of the crib.

@winniebee, I found it and read it! haha. That's why she's in her RnP right now and will get transferred to the crib.

@heartonastring, bah, new s/n! Glad the photo stayed the same so I at least know who you are :). I showed DH the sleep suit, so...maybe!

I just...sigh. I don't know. I'm willing to give it a week and reevaluate if it's going nowhere.

@blackbird: yeah we had to take ours out cause she rolled around so much and the would end up at the bottom of the crib. Thought maybe the elevation would help her transition.

Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit? We have one but haven't tried it yet (still working up the nerve...have been getting 12 hours of solid sleep and dont want to mess with a very good thing!) but I hear they really are magical.

@smurfette, we did but she rolled around in it so much. And honestly, her reflux has been much better lately.

@allison, yes, exactly! I DO NOT know how to do this!

For tonight, put her in her RnP in her bedroom. DH thinks maybe the first step is her simply sleeping NOT next to us. And when she wakes, I'll put her back down in the crib.

I briefly tried to transition my 6.5 month old out of the RnP for naps (he sleeps fine in his crib at night). After a day or two with really crappy naps, I just gave up. Which I'm not advising you to do! But I'm right there with you. It's hard because I know he's going to have to transition some time, but I just don't know how to do it. I want it to be easy!

She is so cute! It wasn't for the same reasons, but when DD was teething we put two small pieces of wood under the posts at the head of her crib so she was slightly elevated.

We do have a swing, but it's downstairs and we're trying to not put her in the swing as much, either.

I really am worried she's going to launch herself out of it in the middle of the night!

We started putting E down for naps in her crib. Naps have dropped to about 20 min now. We also put her down in the crib for sleep last night. She woke up every 2 hours until finally DH put her in her RnP in the room. She's literally climbing out of her RnP now.

How did you make this transition? Do we just have to fight it for a week and then it'll be ok?...

I thought about swaddling her now that she's just kind of open and free in the crib, but she rolls back to front *so* easily, that I worry she'll work her way out of it too much.
