As others have mentioned, it is the perfect size for taking places and made our newborn days much easier. We didn't have any flat head issues or problems transitioning her to the crib. If you are worried about flat head, then you can fold up a receiving blanket and slid it in the pocket between the fabric and the plastic positioner. LO sleeps there during the day and she hangs out either there or on her floor play mat when I need to put her down and get something done. She sleeps in a bassinet at night. No issues with flat head. Baby is perfectly able to turn their head in it -- there are plenty of crib babies who get flat head, too. She wouldn't sleep anywhere but on me until we were given one at 2 months. Now she sleeps in it everynight and it's her favorite place to hang out if I need to get something done like folding laundry. She turns her head back and forth throughout the night. She is swaddled when she's sleeping, but it keeps her nice and secure. I don't notice any flat head issues, if anything she's getting a little bald spot where she rubs her head moving it. But, that would happen anywhere I think! I plan on getting this for everyone I know, whether they registered for it or not! It does cradle her a bit, but not in a way that she can't turn her head. Maybe it causes more flat heads because they can't move their heads from side to side? It is comfortable, the incline helps with reflux and it is light and portable.
