OR @mrs bee just pinned this on pinterest & what a great stinking idea if you're handy with a sewing machine?

I think those wooden ones are kind of unappealing aesthetically, myself, but this makes it look so nice!

@katdevargas: I agree that looking at regular furniture stores is a good way to go. The one we've found so far was just at a regular store.

@BabyBoecksMom: That looks like a good option - thanks!

My husband is 6'8" so we definitely had to look at a lot of different chairs before we found one that fit him. The one we finally got was made by Best Chairs and we were able to customize the fabric on it to match our nursery.

I've been looking at dillards.com, o.co, lazyboy.com, & regular furniture websites like that as well. they seem to have a larger selection of nice glider/recliner combos than the "baby" stores do. since we don't have one yet, I can't recommend anything specific, but just an idea

@mediagirl: I figured we weren't the only ones out there :) It's amazing how short so many of the typical nursery chairs are. I'll be sure to post whatever we end up with!

This is going to be important for us, as well. My husband is 6'3 and I'm 5'7 so we need something that will work for both of us.

we have the dylan glider from land of nod and it's soooo comfortable, but it's huge. we also have a jennifer delonge glider which is great for tall people (not so great for short people like me). it has a super slim profile but isn't nearly as comfy as our land of nod glider.

a reclining feature would be really awesome to have! i pass out in our glider all the time. i haven't really seen any though. maybe you can look into recliners. i've seen tutorials on how to turn chairs into gliders like this:

http://honeyandfitz.blogspot.com/2011/06/converting-upholstered-chair-into.html#axzz1iPoLxCoc

@MerryC: I ordered from a local store that carried them (in Houston the store is Baby and Kid's 1st Furniture) because I wanted to make sure I felt good in it first. For me I was having trouble finding one that the arms were high enough so I can understand why you are having trouble with head support. I'd fill out the Where to Buy request on their website and see if you have any local stores that carry them so you can try them out. Some of the Little Castle line were too wide for me and didn't sink down enough.

Have you looked at Little Castle? I'm 5' 8" and love the Cottage Recliner we have. The cushion is nice and soft so you kind of sink in a little so the head support is there and the arms are nice and high so I had plenty of arm support for BFing too. It rocks like a glider but also is a recliner and many times we've fallen asleep holding my son.

We're hunting for a good rocker or glider for the nursery. Ideally we'd like one thats a recliner type so that I can sleep in it when needed, and it'll be big enough to hold both babies. Hubby and I are both 5'8", but apparently that's tall enough that we don't have any head support when sitting up on most recliners we've tried out.

We found one we like so far, but would love to have some options to compare. Any suggestions on a good nursery chair for taller folks?
