Curious for those of you who have one: do you also have a rocking toy of some sort? We already have a rocking zebra, so I feel like getting this too might be overkill...but DD2 loves them so much when we play with Rodys at a friends house!

They have these at a lot of playgroups near us, and DS loves them now at almost 2 - but he struggled at 1 to get his balance on one and as someone said the tail makes it harder to get on. I think the stand would help though. Now he's got the hang of it he never seems to bounce off though!

We have a very similar toy but it isn't the Rody brand. I don't like it. Every kid who has played with it ends up bouncing off and hurting themselves. I keep it stored in the extra bathtub so that the kids can't get it on their own. I really just need to deflate it and get rid of it.

My two year old loves hers! We do try to make her ride it on the play mat away from sharp objects, but he's been migrating to the kitchen lately.

My girl loves it but she has had some pretty bad calls and hit her head cuz the tail in the back makes it hard to get her foot off and on without getting caught on that. Also not very stable and tips back easily for us. Finally at closer to age 3 it is not such a hazard! She loves it now.

Our DD love her Rody and still plays with it at 3.5. I gave it to her for Christmas at 18 months. We also have the rocker base. It's such a fun toy.

My youngest son loves it! We got it about a year ago (off a resale site) and uses it all the time now. He'll be 2 at the end of the month. So, your LO might be a little young, but would totally grow into it!!!

My LO got one for her 1st birthday. She loves being bounced on it, but at almost 15 months she still isn't quite big enough to get on by herself (but boy, does she try!). She can bounce herself for about 10 seconds before she falls off because her feet don't reach the floor. So, I think she'll love it even more once she's a little bigger. My 4-year-old loves to bounce on it too.

My 18 month old loves these, but I think it's more appropriate for a slightly older child (maybe a little old for a first birthday gift).I'm considering one for Christmas. But if your LO loved it, I'm sure she'd find a way to play until she can get on herself!

My friend gifted DS a Rody for his first birthday, and he's always liked it, but he started really being able to use it closer to 2 years. He's never bounced off it, but he slid off a few times, there's a learning curve for getting on and off! Overall I think it's a good toy, especially since my son loves to jump and bounce.

I was in a local mom-owned shop today and was looking for a creative gift for my 10 month old for Christmas - they suggested a few things but DD was drawn to this Rody thing like a magnet!!!

Does anyone have one? My mom is afraid she will bounce across the house and give herself a concussion or something (she is very busy). I'm considering it more for her first birthday gift, because it's 3 weeks after Christmas and we have no ideas for it!

They also sell a rocking/stabilizing base..
