@JLC53: No worries. Really. Remember, what you see online/ FB is everyone's "highlights" and "best of" of what their baby is doing. It's so easy to compare and get worried. At least for me!

@JLC53: also, I heard the 'back to sleep' campaign has changes rolling from a 4 to a 6 month milestone as they are not developing their core like babies on bellies do.

@JLC53: my son JUST rolled... Back to belly at over 5.5 months. I was also getting worried but I realized every baby does their own thing and the Peds know best. Seemed like every one else's babies were way earlier but boys hit their milestones quite a bit later. No worries!!

@Pumuckl: thank you for the chart, very interesting...

I am not worried yet, just wondering who else was like my lazy boy not wanting to move yet... :)

Does he have an activity mat? That's what really got LO rolling because he was trying to grab some of the dangle toys in the lower corners. He also rolls a lot better on a firm cushioned surface rather than tile or hard wood.

This post is making me feel much better about my 6.5 month old who barely rolls at all. He sometimes rolls belly to back but never back to belly. He is starting to do better at sitting unassisted. My daughter hit every milestone early so I was starting to worry about her bro.

Xander rolled both ways at least once by that point, but never really did it consistently until 7.5 months. And Logan had zero interest in rolling and basically skipped it!

DS is 8 months and didn't really start rolling until 6.5 months and now rarely rolls. He learned to sit unassisted at 5 months and just started crawling last Friday on his 8 month birthday. I was super worried about the lack of rolling, but like others said, it's not a critical milestone

My little brother never learned to roll - well, he knows how now so he apparently learned st some point between 6 months and 35 years, but he skipped it as a milestone.

My LO1 was slow on all milestones, he didn't roll until 6m belly to back and he started rolling fully at 7 months. Then it was his method of getting around for a month before he started army crawling. While this chart doesn't have rolling as a milestone it shows how much of a variety there is for physical milestones: http://www.who.int/childgrowth/standards/mm_windows_graph.pdf?ua=1

LO had PT on Tuesday. He's been rolling back to belly for about 3 weeks now but has only rolled belly to back on accident when his head was too heavy. I asked and she said it isn't a milestone they really worry about, even if it doesn't happen. She said that most babies do both by 7 months.

LO won't roll over to his left side and is very right dominant. She told me rolling him as a game, helping him roll his hip first kinda of teaches him how to do it.

@JLC53: LO wasnt a big roller. We only discovered she could roll because we would put her on her back to sleep and come find her on her side or belly. but she wouldnt do it during awake time or play time

Mine didn't skip, but she didn't do it until 6.5 months. I thought she never would. She never even accidentally did it until then and it was on purpose.

5 month LO is still not rolling... He has come close back to tummy a few times, but otherwise doesn't seem interested. When on his tummy he will lift his head really high and look around then just goes down and tries to eat his hands, but never has even attempted to roll tummy to back.

Will it come eventually? Pediatrician said he might skip this milestone all together and go straight to sitting. Has anyone's LO do that?
