We had random bouts of rolling, but he was on the closer end of 6 months before he really got it down. He would only roll in one direction for the longest time, we started calling him Zoolander because of that ;) Eventually he figured it out.

@shopaholic: it took Adelaine a good 2-3 weeks to roll tummy to back.. She started back to tummy around 4 months, then sometime before 5 months she rolled the other way. I feel you n being exhausted.. During those few weeks I wished she had just been like the pack and rolled tummy to back first.

L rolled front to back at eleven weeks then two weeks later back to front. Another two weeks after that and she was rolling all over.

N also rolled back to tummy first, at about 4 months. It took him about a month to roll from tummy to back. I think it was scarier to him because he couldn't see where he was going, I could see him wanting to so badly and start leaning a hundred times. Took him a while but now I can't get him to stop moving!

Hmmmm... I never had that with P b/c really the only way she didn't like being was on her tummy so she literally started rolling from tummy to back at just a couple weeks old (more like brace herself on her feet/legs & push herself over). From there I don't remember when she started rolling the other way, but since she preferred to be on her back & had to purposely roll onto her tummy she was fine when she did start doing it.

Hope she figures it out soon though!!!

K finally is a proficient back-to-tummy roller now, though she only seems to roll to the right. And she hasn't gotten tummy-to-back, which both our ped and our baby app said usually happens first. This has led to lots of frustration and whining this week. This mama is exhausted! How long did it take your LO to "get" how to roll back the other direction, instead of screaming because he/she is stuck?
