Yeah, I would just give him a minute or so to see if he could do it himself and if not help him. And yes, even my notorious late-milestone reacher managed to roll at 7 months. So you should be okay soon.

Thanks! She's been sleeping through the night since 6 WEEKS old and I'm doing just like you did. I don't usually wait any time because I'm afraid she will "wake up too much". But I roll her over, put in her paci and pat her gently and she's back to sleep in less than 2 minutes. I guess I just wanted reassurance that I'm doing it ok 😜 Hopefully she will master the reverse roll in next few weeks and then I may let her try to figure it out before I go rushing in there. Not sure when they typically master that skill but it should be soon! Thanks!

I'm not sure what your routine is, but for our LO, we would wait a few min (or however long I could stand it, aka, 2 min :silly: ) and then I would go in and fix her up. Not picking her up, just back onto her back with paci (and probably a quick kiss). This was in line with what I read in "Sleeping Through the Night" (or at least what I got out of it). That book helped us a ton, BTW. Anyhoo, IMO, until I knew that DD could actually move where she wanted, I kept helping her. But I am weak! :silly: But, at 6ish months she was pretty much STTN, so I couldn't have messed her up too bad!

Good luck, mama! Get yourself some sleep!

My 6 mo old can roll from back to tummy but not tummy to back. She sleeps in a Halo sleepsack (arms are left unswaddled) and has occasionally started to roll onto her belly at night time. She is waking up crying because she can't get back on her back. I would love tips or suggestions on what to do. I hate to make her cry it out since she hasn't mastered the skill to roll tummy to back, but I also don't want to be an enabler. I do practice rolling in both directions with her during the day but she has only rolled from tummy to back a few times and it's definitely not a mastered skill yet. Thanks!
