My babe was a sleep crawler for a while, amd she would wake up confused and angry. It took a little while, but she grew out of it. She never let us put her to sleep on her tummy, only her back. she will flip over on her own, though.

Hang in there!

My guy eventually learned to sleep on his belly and it helped him a lot -- he's much happier on his belly/side. But at first he would be confused and angry about being on his stomach and would wake up screaming, every hour or two. He figured it out reasonably quickly.

Last night was a little better- seems like she is figuring the whole tummy sleeping thing out. She was still all over the crib though. She was very active in my belly so I guess I shouldn't expect any less now. Man, we are in for it once she really figures out how to crawl!

my 7 mo has been out of her merlin suit (into a regular sleep sack) for a bit over a month and she is allll over her crib every night. usually at least once/day we have to rescue her from a stuck limb. it doesn't really seem to bother her sleep though? I feel like its mostly better because she has the freedom to roll into a comfy position (she sleeps generally on her side or stomach)

My son is an active sleeper too... He has fell out of a high-ish bed about 3 times in his life. It was super scary the first time! But he was alright.

We are terrible we never really successfully sleep trained him.

When he sleeps on his own and we put him in his bed... we stuff blankets under his fitted sheets and he usually doesn't roll pass them.

When he sleeps with us... man we do not enjoy when he sleeps with us because he will roll on top of us... kick or head butt us.... he does this thing were he sits up and then falls forward or backwards from that position and sometimes his head lands on your head or a body part and that hurts darn it!!

I hope it gets better but he's almost 3 and it's still the same. *rolls eyes* We are total failures. Oh well.

@rachiecakes: I'm not sure if the breathable bumper would have help! :) We had normal bumpers *gasp* and LO still got his legs stuck in the bars!! :)

@charleysmom: yes! my son has always been an active sleeper - he wouldn't stay in the swaddles at the hospital, so I never really used them at home.

I never purchased breathable bumpers, but I maybe should have - he would wake up from getting limbs stuck in the slats. I relied on our video monitor but I did have to re-position him.
He's 3 now and he's still all over the place in bed and falls out of bed quite often. He's in a toddler bed now, so not high off the ground. We have carpets but I put a stack of quilts next to his bed.
And I still use the baby gates for the door because sometimes he wakes up disoriented and I don't want him falling down the stairs if he ventures out.

When LO was 4 months she began to roll over in her sleep. We had a rough couple of weeks and then it seemed to pass- she stayed on her back. She is now 6 months and the other night she managed to roll over in her sleep sack. So we have been putting her to bed without it- might as well make it easier for her. It's obvious she wants to sleep on her belly and we are ok with that. The problem is she doesn't seem to know how. She will sleep for a bit and then wake up a bit, lift her head, army crawl around the crib. The other night she face planted into the mattress. She has also been getting her arms and legs stuck in the slats of the crib so the mesh bumpers went up this morning. Will she eventually get the hang of sleeping on her belly? We were going to start sleep training on Saturday but now with this going on I don't know if we should postpone it? Anyone else deal with this?
