LO had it a month or so ago - her temp got up to near 103 and she appeared splotchy one evening while she still had the fever but a proper rash didn't break out until after the fever had gone back down to 100-101 range. The splotchyness was making me suspect roseola but it wasn't a rash yet and she did have the fever.
@Freckles: Yes, important to not that no itching or discomfort will be present with a roseola rash - but a reaction to antibiotics with most likely itch.

@travellingbee: One thing to note is that the rash isn't itchy, so there shouldn't be any discomfort around that. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/roseola/DS00452/DSECTION=symptoms

@travellingbee: we just got a diagnosis of suspected roseola this morning! My LO had a rash two days ago and then last night spiked a 102 degree temp. I don't know if it's really roseola but it sucks having a sick, tired, baby! :(

@Freckles: the highest it got was 101.7. I spoke with the nurse and she thinks the rash is a reaction to the amoxicillin he's in for an ear infection. I'm supposed to watch him after his next dose. Thanks!

How high was his fever before the rash? DD had roseola last month. Her fever spiked up to 104 at one point, and she didn't get a rash until 24 hours after her fever broke. Did you call the doctor?

My LO got a fever last night and today I am noticing a rash on his back and belly. It is fairly light but looks a bit like pictures I've seen of Roseola. Only thing is it is not that high a fever (101.7) and he still has it. I thought they got the rash after the fever broke. Anyone know anything about it?
