I think the catheter was tough to watch too. In our case, a resident tried to put it in first (which I was fine with being that I'm familiar with teaching hospitals), but then she "couldn't" get it in, despite the nurse telling her exactly where to go. Augh.... torture to watch... I wanted to just do it myself (I'm a nurse). Thank goodness the nurse just quickly took over and that was that. It started with vomiting and then turned to a week of diarrhea. No fun. She ended up in the ER getting IV fluids. She was so pitiful. Has anyone else had this?
