@HappyBaker: He could be. Hope you both got some rest last night. My LO had it many times. If you do feel uncomfortable bringing him home after your appointment today, you could push to be admitted. Our doctor offered that one of the times when he was really bad. Thinking of you!

Ugh. No advice for a little one so young. We just got over a week of RSV, we're doing much better now with a bit of a cough left, but that's all that remains. The snot sucker really did help a lot. Good Luck! :goodluck:

Did they give you a nebulizer to do breathing treatments? We got one when LO got bronchiolitis the first time at 5 months. We also spent A LOT of time in a steamy bathroom. I even brought in a foldable camp chair so I could nurse in there.

Hang in there!! It's rough, but it will get better!

Do you have a snot sucker? Nose Frida and nasal saline can help mobilize those secretions.

Did they do an RSV test? My LO had it at 8 weeks. We had to go to the doctor daily for check ups and then were admitted to the hospital for observation when he ran a fever. When they are that little their breathing can get compromised quickly.

@ladybee: thanks for the response! Sounds like everything they told us to do just at home, I'd feel better if we were in the hospital with people checking on us! I think he got it from my older daughter who's in daycare, though she never officially had it she's had a junky cough all week and a double ear infection.

We were admitted at 2 months old for RSV but they thought it might be bronchlioitis while they waited for the results. We were told that days 5-7 are the worse. And it was noticeably better after that. While we were in the hospital, they came in and suctioned him hourly. We gave bottles in smaller doses since he was having a hard time breathing. We elevated his crib, ran the humidifier, and used saline. We also did breathing treatments once we got home.

I'm sorry you are going through this! Do they know how your LO may have gotten it? Ours got it from daycare.

Any tips on how to make a newborn more comfortable while dealing with this? What was your experience / how long did it last?

LO is 4 weeks tomorrow and we just got back from the doctor with Bronchiolitis / possibly from RSV. We are having a big snow storm tomorrow and I'm freaking out since the ped said he is going to get worse before he gets better.
