@MrsSRS: oh I get why they want them- I'm just not sure what they are. Or where I can buy some. Swim diapers are totally gross. :)

I think it's because the swim diaper holds poop pieces, but water still goes in and out so it touches the poop and bacteria can still get into the pool.

We use these, not sure if they're available in the U.S. though? It's made of neoprene and they seem pretty bomb proof - although LO has never put it to the test!

They require them at our neighborhood pool and they kicked us our with a baby with a swim diaper. My neighbors said they sell them on amazon. It's like a plastic piece that goes over the swim diaper?

@jape14: haha. I guess I'll see how strict they are? I've done a disposable swim diaper with a cute reusable swim diaper over it before (more because I was worried she would poop and didn't want to deal with it in the reusable but the reusable one is part of her swim suit).

I couldn't figure it out at our swim lessons either - we just did disposable diaper underneath a reusable swim diaper. (And all of that underneath his swim trunks - he loved that whole changing process  ) Based on seeing all of the other kids being changed at various points throughout the 6 weeks, no one else had the mystical "rubber pants"!

C is taking swim lessons this fall. The description says anyone in diapers must wear "tight fitting rubber or vinyl pants over swim diaper". What is this? They sell them at the shop at the pool but if I can prepare ahead of time I'd rather. I've seen similar wording at a lot of swim lesson places but no real clarification on what that is. Reusable swim diaper over disposable?

Believe me, I do not want to be responsible for a code brown!!
