When pregnant with my 2nd, my doctor mentioned that I needed the Rubella booster. I got it a day or two after my baby was born while still in the hospital. I didn't worry about it during pregnancy.

Rubella has been eradicated from the U.S., so if you are here I especially wouldn't worry.

I found out my immunity was gone after giving birth, so they gave me a booster while I was there. So I was fine during my pregnancy, didn't even know it was an issue until afterwards!

This happened to me, with Rubella, and was identified when I had my blood work done while I was pregnant with my first. After she was born, I got a booster. When my second pregnancy came along about 20 months later...I was low on Rubella again! It turns out my body doesn't work with the Rubella vaccine (I am sure there is a good medical term for it that I don't know), but I relied on herd immunity and my babes were both fine! Now I just have a note in my file that I will always test low for that vaccine.

This happened to me, but with chickenpox. I was told I wasn't immune when I was pregnant last summer (even though I had chickenpox as a kid). I miscarried, didn't get the shot because I didn't want to wait the 3 months, and then didn't end up getting pregnant until closer to 6 months later anyway. Just last week, I was told again by my OB that I'm not immune and will need the shot once the baby's out.

I guess we will just need to be a little more careful than usual.

When I was pregnant with DS my rubella was low, and I just had a booster after he was born. I didn't really think anything of it or let it worry me, just followed the Doctors safety guidelines.

Actually you know my OB mentioned that I would need the vaccination again during one of my prenatal appts bc my blood work showed I needed it. I don't remember actually getting it after delivery tho. I know I got my rhogam after the established my sons blood type, but not the MMR vaccine. So, I guess you can say I was fine during pregnancy without it.

Husband and I have been TTC since last September. We had one pregnancy that ended in a MC. At the blood test for that pregnancy I was informed my Rubella numbers were low and I would need to get a shot after baby was born. After my MC, doc said I should get rubella but we would have to take a 3 month break from TTC, which at the time there was no way I could handle that. I needed a baby now. Looking back I should have just had the shot since I didn't get pregnant anyway, but I can't predict the future! Sadly. So now I just started clomid and the fertility doctor just got my blood test results back and mentioned I need rubella!!!!! I had totally forgotten I even needed it. BOO! Did this happen to anyone else. Did you get pregnant and were ok without rubella? I really don't want to skip this month since I only have one more day left of clomid and all my scans and things are already scheduled. UGH
