I liked it and it didn't ever seem to get stained. High traffic areas (like right in front of the couch) did get kind of worn down though. My biggest issue was that if you dropped anything small on it, you could never find it! After about 2 years of vacuuming and spot cleaning, they were looking pretty nasty. I rented a steam cleaner and now they look new again. Not shag, though. Spills are fine because it's a fairly dark color/pattern and nothing really shows. Obviously it needs to be vacuumed often. I've seen quite a few white or cream shag rugs on social media, and there's one at West Elm that I've had my eye on. If you have one, has it stayed clean? Will it be filthy in no time?</p> <p>Also, if you have a rug under your kitchen or dining table, do you regret it? I worry that the minute I buy one, one of the kids (or me!) will knock a plate or bowl full of food on the rug and I'll wish I had saved my money. </p>
