Since we drive, I don't put LO into anything thicker than a fleece/heavier hoodie because she's in a car seat. If she's spending time outside, I gauge by my own comfort level. Since she's pretty active and moves a lot, I try to do layers so that she can adjust to weather. IE, this weekend it was in the low 50s in the AM and warmed up to the low 70s so we went to the park at 9 AM in an undershirt, a cotton top, jeans, and a fleece hoodie. I just guess. I think under 70 = light jacket. This morning I took a chance and just put a hoodie, and it turned out ok... but other days when I try the same, we have to head back into our apartment to get a coat!</p> <p>Is there a rule of thumb for when to put your kids in a heavier coat or jacket? Like say, anything below 70 degrees = a coat... </p>
