I've never had too much brand loyalty. I had a favorite pair of shoes in Nike, but they stopped making it :( . Most Nikes though fit my foot kinda awkwardly though Our team in college was sponsored by Adidas so I went through a big variety of them, they always seemed a bit heavier to me so I preferred their lighter versions like their supernova, they held up a long time for a light shoe. Other than that I've found shoes I like i asics, saucony, and mizuno. For me I can't handle brooks shoes, they hurt my feet. If you go to a running store they can probably help you out but I'd base it on feel more than anything.

I wear Asics Nimbus - whatever version that's out is what I get. I got fitted about 10 years ago and that's what they recommended and I continue to love them.

I got fitted at my local running store and ended up getting the Mizuno wave for my neutral gait. Loove them.

I love Asics. But last time I got fitted/gait analyzed, they recommended Mizunos. They're great too.

Thanks for the advice! I meant to add that I do cross training and boot camps too. It looks like I'm going to need to get a couple pairs (darn!)

wanted to also say a specialised running store is what you need rather than a foot locker type store.

I agree with @cupcakemama. You should go get fit at a store and stick to a brand that focuses on running shoes, like brook, mizuno, or asics. Getting fit is really helpful to pick what kind of shoe you need. I'm also a mild pronator. I run in asics 2160s now. I've run in Nikes before but the asics are much better. I have less foot and joint pain. I also got superfeet inserts too to help my arches. They are great.

Go to a running store to get fitted - they will tell you the level of support you need. I am a mild pronator and have found asics 21x0 really good. Think they are up to 2160 or 2170. I also really like brooks, can't remember if they are adrenaline ir addiction. I've worn new balance before, they are great as are saucony.

If you are serious about running and mean to do reasonable mileage I wouldn't recommend nike or addidas or reebok. They aren't as good a shoe and haven't had the development of other brands, imo. I have been running for 15 years and have never had a serious injury. I put this down, in a large part, to wearing good shoes.

Sorry for the essay! I rather passionate about my running! Don't start me on women running without adequate boob support!

I love Mizuno or Brooks. I suggest going to a running store and getting fit with a pair that is right for your feet and your gait. I also run in vibram five fingers which are great and light.

I'm in need of a new pair of running shoes (or two). I loved my Addidas bounce shoes, but I don't think they make them anymore. I need inspiration!
