I'm having some neck/shoulder issues so I don't feel like I can use it anymore which is frustrating. When I do, I usually only swing one arm. I have the bob marathon which is super light (and a light kid) so the only big issues are hills and arm movement/posture.

It is so hard! I've been running w/ LO for the last 10 months and he's only getting heavier! The one arm swing is a must though, and I also find going downhill is a struggle in making sure the stroller doesn't get away from me...and then that makes me go faster than I'd like. But holy cow, going up hills is torture!

I only ever push with one arm- I read it helps you maintain better form...I walk up really steep hills though! I got used to it, the worst part for me is how much space I take up! There are tons of puddles here now, and the sidewalks are tiny, I feel like I'm always knocking other pedestrians out if the way!

It's hard!!! One arm swaying helps. Or your husband pushing it is even better :)

It is! I trained for my half by running with the BOB and my half felt easy in comparison!

YES! It really is!! But it makes running without one so much easier later ...

I did my first 5K with a 4 year old in a cheapie jogging stroller (Run for the Cure ... and we were running for my grandma) She was great for encouragement LOL "Run Faster Mommy!!!!"

@T.H.O.U.: Yes! The one arm swing is necessary.

I also will push the stroller forward and run after it, like not keep a hand on it (still have the tether strap around my wrist)...I do this because I find that when I get really tired, I hold on to the stroller with a death grip, like it's going to save me or something, hahaha!

GL on your half :grin:

@T.H.O.U.: I did for a little, but it's really hilly here, so I felt like I needed both hands on the stroller to get him up the hills. Maybe I'll try swinging an arm on the way up next time.

@JessKas: bahahahah!

I've never had a reason yet to run with a stroller, but when i do run, I need to swing my arms erratically.

It is hard. I've only tried pushing friends' babies short distances, I haven't gotten the itch to do it myself. Once I saw a man on a hilly trail pushing a 3 and 5 year old in a double BOB with a flat tire. I was in awe. When I applauded him he laughed it off and said the lighter kid was on the side with the flat.

Holy crap. I guess I thought it'd be easy because a stroller has wheels. But my 35 lb jogging stroller + an almost 20 lb kid = I am exhausted and I only ran 3 miles!! My legs feel like dead weight. I was running 6 miles before I added the stroller...(only because I'm trying to train for a half marathon!)

Anyone else find it hard to get used to running with a jogging stroller? Any tips? Or is it just me?
