Everything seemed to be fine with my DH and I and it took us 20 cycles. His SA was normal. I ovulated on my own but had an LP on the shorter side but my doctor wasn't concerned about it. My ovulation was very predictable and we never once had terrible timing. I had an HSG and started clomid after confirming my tubes were clear. We got pregnant on our third cycle post HSG, second cycle of clomid. Hang in there! Sounds like you have a good doctor. Happy BDing! :wink:

ETA: we also followed the sperm meets egg plan for half those cycles and then more loosely in the later cycles. In the end, I believe we were successful with every other day BDing but we BDed twice on O day--which was totally not planned! :)

Sounds hokey based on the name but the "Sperm Meets Egg Plan" might be worth a try as it is a free kindle download on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Sperm-Meets-Egg-Plan-Pregnant-ebook/dp/B009O1ZYQG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1433702669&sr=8-1&keywords=sperm+meets+egg+plan). We loosely followed this plan and it does help keep you from burning out with daily BDing but makes sure you cover the right days at the same time.

@stiletto_mom: it's actually more common than you think to get fake surges. I get one almost every cycle! It took quite a few months of temping and using OPKs to figure out when is the "real" ovulation date. I don't know your history so I don't know if there is an underlying reason why you feel like "something" is wrong and you might need intervention. I know how discouraging it is to be on your 8th cycle with no positive and seemingly nothing wrong. But it is very common to take this long if not longer for two very healthy people to conceive! Hang in there. If you are getting a fake surge I would keep temping and taking OPKs!

Would you be able to do a cycle of having sex every other day? Like, for the whole cycle? It took my husband and I almost 8 months (6 cycles) to get pregnant, the month that did it I stopped any kind of temping/charting/peeing on sticks and we just committed to doing it every other day til I got my period. It never came! I never read any books or did much research, so I don't know if there is a downside to this (besides exhaustion). Anyway, it worked for us! Good luck!

@LBee: Thanks for that. It does put my mind at ease a little more. Yes, I started temping recently (March), but I've also been tracking the length of my cycles and the mittelschmerz that correspond and it seems to point to left ovulation being the wonky cycle.

@DesertDreams88:
@regberadaisy:
I've have 3 cycles of temps. It looks like 2/3 are long/delayed and one was normal. Even with an OPK, it's going to be hard to pinpoint O. I used an OPK during one of my long cycles and it gave me a positve for a false surge. I didn't ovulate until about 3 weeks later.
Here's my current chart: http://babyandbump.momtastic.com/redirect-to/?redirect=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fertilityfriend.com%2Fhome%2F5972fd

@BabyTsMom: Thank you. I think IUI would be our final step. If that didn't work, I don't think we'd go IVF route. =(

My periods were somewhat regular, I had no other issues other than being over 35, and DH's SA was also normal. Our infertility was classified as "unexplained." After about six months of trying naturally, we sought the help of a RE. I didn't want to try too long since I'm older. I got pregnant after one medicated IUI. Good luck!

Have you been temping? Temping will give you a better idea for future cycles on when you may be ovulating then you can use your opks the days around that to pinpoint a 36 hour window.

Dd1 took 9 cycles but almost a year. Dd2 took 9 months. Both are actively TTC. It just takes some of us a little longer!

I remember looking at your chart in the past and you saying that the first 6 months you didn't pressure your husband into having sex when it was your window. I remember at the time saying that the 6 and 12 month stats refer to ttc with accurate timing. Maybe post your chart and see if other bees might have the same assessment? @Adira: is a charting expert, I know.

@Adira: We've been using PreSeed for the past few months! =)

@DesertDreams88: It's hard for me to pinpoint O-day since my cycles are irregular. =( I think that's the big challenge for us.

I ended up having PCOS and having to go the metformin + clomid + progesterone route, but I think pre-seed and mucinex definitely helped! We also BDed on O-2 for the 2nd time in ten months, which supposedly has the best chances for pregnancy (compared to the other days.)

@GreenThumb: Doctor says to aim for timing for the next two months and then we can explore Clomid and have an HSG done to see if anything's wrong with my tubes!!

SO the prescription for the next two months is lots of BDing!! LOL

Well, that's all good news, really! Have you had an HSG done to check if your tubes are clear? I'm not sure if that can be picked up on an ultrasound. What does your doctor recommend? :goodluck: :goodluck:

We're on our 8th cycle and both DH and I have all our blood, urine tests back (both normal). I had an ultrasound done and everything is normal.

DH's SA results are back:
Volume: 5.5 mL (normal range 1.5-5.0mL)
Viscosity: normal
pH: 8.0 (normal range 7.0-8.0)
Sperm Count: 40 x 10E6/mL (normal range is greater than 20)
Motility: 80% (normal range is greater than 50)
Morphology: 25% abnormal (normal range is under 40%)

So everything looks normal. But I DO have irregular periods. Is this just a case of timing (not catching the egg)?

I'm using an OPK right now (Clearblue Digital) and just got a flashing smiley today. I've started taking Rubitussin this cycle as well since I've never really had EWCM.

Anyone on the same boat as us or been through similar?
