This is definitely me... DS goes down around 7. And I never get to bed until 11/12... I've tried going to bed earlier, but even then I stay up reading a book/tv/etc. ton turn off my wired brain! I get about 7-8 hours of sleep though.

Yes, I do this, too or at least I used to when I was home. Lately, DH has been going to the gym at LOs bedtime, so once she is asleep I spend that hour or so until he gets back as my downtime. I watch a show and relax on the couch and then we do dinner and "us" time.

I have no advice because I really feel like everyone does need their own time.

I stayed up til after midnight this weekend to read and I totally regretted it the next day! I find that sleep is the #1 factor to my mood, though, so I prioritize it as much as I can.

Yup. I do this too and it is wearing me out. Luckily (or unluckily) LO is teething and waking me up a lot in the middle of the night so I have been going to bed earlier because I am completely exhausted.

DH and I started going to bed 30 minutes earlier lately so we can each read and unwind, but together so we don't feel like we're completely ignoring each other... haha. Otherwise, I would DEFINITELY need some quiet down-time

I'm always the one going to bed early because I get up with LO in the morning (and would anyway for work). DH gets the alone time in the evenings after I go to bed so I don't have much option :(

I'm terrible for this!!

E goes down at 7pm and always gives us a good chunk of sleep at the start of the night - at least 5 hours, sometimes 6. Then, after her first wake up, she gives us 3 hour chunks. I know I should go to bed early and take advantage of that first stretch but night after night I enjoy hanging out with DH so much I end up going to bed at 11.30pm and am then woken up by DD an hour and a half later!!!

That said, last night, I did go to bed early and I was woken by DH coming to bed and hour later and then, an hour and a half after that, by DD. I actually felt worse!

This would not have worked for me, because my son slept his best hours the first 4 that he went down for the night, so I front loaded on sleep.

I pretty much stopped watching TV when my son was born, I just couldn't keep up and I had no desire to add new stuff when the new seasons began. My fun time is reading, and I have only really picked it up again in the last year.

I don't but I have a SAHM who does this. I have started to get up a little earlier (DH leaves super early) before the kids to get a little me time each morning. But, if DS decides to wake up early, it doesn't happen hahaha

S goes to sleep at 7, and I usually stay up another 3hrs to spend time with my Husband. I should be getting to sleep sooner as she usually wakes up for a feed anywhere from 1-3am but it's nice to get those few hours of calm together.

Yup, I have the same problem and now my body clock has adjusted to the later bedtime so I don't think I could go to bed earlier if I wanted to!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this....

Between my perfect little 14 month old and my sweet hubby's needs I often feel that I get no time for myself. My husband often wants me to hang out with him after I put our son to bed which makes perfect sense and I miss him too so I do that. When he finally goes to sleep I find myself in a pattern of staying up two hours or so later and reading a book, watching shows I like, catching up on my interneting, planning my day for tomorrow etc. this usually means I don't get much sleep. 7 hours if I am lucky. I find I need to unwind though. Who else does this?
