We have the same mirror as @Mrsbells. I really feel comfortable using it. It's ultra light, secures tightly, and the mirror isn't breakable. I would go crazy without it.

@Foodnerd81: Haha I have never even seen that one before, i guess they keep coming up with new things. I suppose that one might be better for an older child

@Mrsbells: I think I have a different one-- it's bulky and hard plastic and not at all flexible. This one (http://www.amazon.com/In-Sight-Magical-Firefly-Mirror-Safety/dp/B00B7M7CMO/ref=br_it_dp_o_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=3O2B3Z4M4M0OR&coliid=I8RMHYYOSBVFS) (Sorry for the long link!)

It has lots of bells and whistles, but now I think a simple lighter one will be better. I see the other simpler Brica ones-- which one do you have/like?

@Foodnerd81: The brica car seat mirror is one of the safest out there, It is soft and flexible and cant do any harm to your child even if it somehow came off. It secures very tightly to the car though. we have it and have not had any trouble with it

Some of the other threads about the mirrors in front of a rear facing carseat have me totally freaked out, and I'm returning the big Brica one that I registered for. But, I anticipate that I WILL want to see what's going on back there some times. Is there a safer alternative? Our car does not have the LATCH system so I can't anchor it to that.

I'm a nervous driver as it is, so I can only imagine that driving with my baby crying in the backseat and not being able to see him/her will only make me more nervous.
