I pump in the morning when he goes down for his first nap. That usually gives me enough time to "recover" my supply by the time he wakes up and wants to eat and I get way more in the morning than night. If anything I think it actually helped my supply, by encouraging him to nurse longer at that feed and basically telling my body I had a ravenous baby around 9 am.

@regberadaisy: I EPed but that would have been a worry of mine too... I had low supply so after I pumped I was drained for a while! Domperidone really helped boost my supply though.

@Charm54: I had supply issues with #1 so I'm so afraid of pumping then she wakes up and I don't have milk for her. I know that's not how the body works. It's a mental thing LOL

Do you ever find that if you just pumped and LO wakes up she has to work harder at getting the milk going?

I EPed so I would pump first thing in the morning, once during her morning nap, once during her aftn nap, and then before I went to bed.

I hope to EP LO#2 but I know it will be harder to find the time once I have a toddler to look after too :-/

I tended to get the most milk first thing in the morning, so I would pump after her first morning feed. I actually liked to freeze in small increments like 2oz to use to mix with cereal, but for bottles I would freeze 4-6oz in a bag

I'm with DD 2 24/7 but want / need to somehow Find time to pump. For the times where we can go out without her or when I go back to work.

For now she has been sleeping a good stretch before her first wake up at night. So I'm thinking I'll pump before I go to bed. And perhaps any time she naps longer than 2 hours.

Any other tips to build a stash if you're home with LO all the time? I don't seem to respond well to the pump so I don't expect to get much out of each session. What's the smallest amount you would freeze in one bag?
