I pump randomly when I know I'll want bottles...some days not at all, some days a couple of times. As long as it's not within an hour of a feeding, it hasn't been a problem to get a few bottles in the fridge for outings. A normal pumping session is around 4-5 oz usually.

@MamaJ: we have essentially the same schedule! I teach 3 nights a weeks too! :-)

Just like mamaj- I teach dance 3 nights a week and am gone from 4-8/9 so I pump everyday 2x a day. LO last feeding is around 9/9:30 and then I stay up and pump somewhere around 10:30-11 and get about 3oz. LO sttn so I set an alarm for 1:45am and I pump them and get about 4-5 oz- those 2 pumping sessions cover the 2 feedings while I am gone at work. Also allows me a few extra bottle for the weekend to take with me if we are going out somewhere.

wow! that is a lot of pumping. I pumped for a while right after LO ate in the morning but now that I have some in the freezer, I just pump when I'm going to miss a feed.

My babe is only 4 weeks. I started pumping at 3 weeks, once a day. I started to try to increase supply on one of my boobs because I'm quite lopsided. I'm trying to build a stash for occasional time away from babe. I'm pumping 1x a day usually. I am using a manual, and don't get a ton. I pump on one side while she nurses on the other (it's the only way I can get anything remotely substantial). If I'm getting lopsided I will add an extra brief session on just that side immediately following a feeding.
I have been pumping at about 9am when we are getting up for the day, but I know I could get a lot more if I did it during one of her early morning wake ups when I'm fuller. I keep trying to motivate to do this...

I started off pumping one side in the morning (she used to only eat from one side in the mornings), around lunchtime, and when she went to bed. Then I just cut out the lunchtime pump. Around 7 months I stopped the mornig pump, DH started giving her a bottle before bed as part of their bedtime routine, so I'm still pumping after she goes to bed to keep up with that. Whenever she gets the hang of whole milk, I'll stop pumping at night.

I was doing pretty well pumping one today until about week four. Then we were told we had thrush so I stopped for a little over a month. Now I'll just come here and there but I could do more. i only feed from one side most of the time so if I wanted to pump first thing in the morning on the side that I don't feed on I could get a pretty good amount to freeze. Especially now that she can go seven or eight hours without eating at night.

My only problem now is since the bout with Rush, she's been refusing the bottle so the few times I've given her pumped milk I've had to throw it away because she won't drink it! Even though I'm a stay-at-home mom and exclusively breast-feed, I still like to build a nice little stash. I try to pump at least a couple of times a week.

I'm a mostly stay at home mom. I teach dance three nights a week so I'm gone from 5pm-9pm those days. I pump after each morning feed. Then when I'm gone he usually gets one bottle and I pump when I get home (unless he is awake and hungry, then I'll just feed him). I freeze whatever extra I seem to have. I have about 120 oz in the freezer so when I'm done with dance for the summer I think I will only pump 3x/week in the morning because I don't really think I need all that milk. My freezer stash has not been touched and DS is almost 6 months.

My LO is 2.5 weeks old and I've been pumping since day 1 to make sure I had a well established milk supply due to some concerns. Thankfully everything has been going pretty well! I've got a nice little stash of liquid gold going and would like to continue to build it so that she can have the occasional bottle when I'm away or so that DH can feed her. I've started pumping after every other feeding for now but ideally would like to cut back some more in a few weeks.

Would love to hear what other SAHMs pumping schedules look like!
