My LO is 14 months old - throwing a lot more tantrums and I think we may be transitioning to one nap. It's just more changes I need to adjust to, but it's been hard the past month. However, I do love our lazy mornings together, not having to rush and get out the door, eating lunch together (he enjoys "sharing" now), reading stories to him before naptime, going to the park in the middle of the day, etc. I know in my heart I would still rather be a full-time SAHM, but man, the whining is just overwhelming sometimes! I do hope to find something with flexible or make my own hours that I could do around the kids school schedules for some extra fun money for the family. I miss feeling excited about projects and having long term goals related to things other than LO...and I miss feeling valued in a professional way. I totally know what you mean about feeling weird about not missing it and not dying to go back...like people think I'm an underachiever or slacker or that I have no purpose/identity. There are definitely things I miss about having a career and going into an office but I did that for a long time before have LO...I miss the interaction, purpose and achievement that came with working but I don't miss the stress, lack of time, commute, office politics...and I really do feel like I was made to be a SAHM. My husband says I approach being a SAHM like I approached my job...I plan our days together and get stuff done around the house so we can enjoy our evenings and weekends.
