I've napped maybe 5 times in her 9 months. At least three of those were in the first week of her being home and my parents were around to help.

Never...I am a terrible napper and have a really hard time turning of my mind enough to fall asleep. I usually do chores or relax on the couch.

Occasionally. I usually use naptime to straighten up around the house or catch up on HB and watch some tv. Sometimes I'm just so tired, especially if DS had a rough night.

@pui: its not that you get no sleep, its that the sleep you DO get is fragmented into 2-3 hour chunks and it starts in the last trimester. I think the longest I've slept straight through in half a year is 5 hours and that happened ONCE.

No...unfortunately I can never fall asleep and, if I do, I wake up super grumpy. I'd rather catch up on house stuff or read when he's napping.

I don't have a LO yet, but my friends who are parents all tell me you need to sleep when your baby does or you'll never get any sleep. Not sure how true it is.

Nope. When she was little and I actually needed the sleep I couldn't because she would only nap in my arms. Now she sleeps through the night so it's no big deal, I get all my sleep. But even if I am tired, I am a deep sleeper so I'm too scared I won't hear her cry.

Nope. I'm a crappy napper. But I rarely have more than like 15 minutes where they are both asleep at the same time, so I always just use the time to work out, clean myself, or do chores.

Nope, I never do. I think I would if I was sick though. I've never been a very good napper and I know I'd just lay in bed thinking of everything I could be getting done.

YES. I do it all the time (at least for his morning nap, but if his morning nap is only an hour long I join him for his afternoon as well). In fact, we went for our morning nap around 10am, and I JUST woke up at 2.....and he's still sleeping. SCORE!

(of course, this required a LOT of dream feeds and I switched sides of the bed twice to nurse, but ya. 4.5 hour nap? Thank you, booda-bear!)

Never but I wish I could. I usually do dishes and tidy up when she first goes down for her nap and by the time I've finished that stuff, I can never fall asleep because I keep thinking she'll be waking up any minute. Napping while the baby naps is easier said than done, in my opinion : (

nah. She was never a long napper, and it takes me a while to fall asleep. Now she naps longer, but I don't nap unless she got up really, really early.

I would try to nap during one of his naps the first couple months. If I couldn't fall asleep, I would just lay in bed and watch TV so I was at least resting. By month 3, I was pretty adjusted and didn't need to nap during the day anymore since I usually get a decent amount of sleep at night now.

I'm home with him an extra day during the week (work 4 days) and I rarely if ever nap even when I'm tired. I always have something to do - dishes, laundry, tidying, financial stuff, insurance stuff, bills, showering, eating....

No, I usually have to much other stuff to do! Plus I have a hard time napping in general. If I'm really tired though, I'll lay on the couch and watch my shows on the DVR.

My mom is always lecturing me about how I need to sleep when he sleeps, but I almost never do (especially now that that he's napping in his crib). I feel guilty for not keeping up with housework, so I try to use the time to do laundry or the dishes or prep dinner.

I didn't get much in the way of sleep last night, though, and he napped for like 2 hours this morning, and after sitting and yawning for half an hour I handed the monitor over to DH and went and napped for an hour and a half. It was glorious, and I feel like a real person!

Are you able to nap when your LO naps?
