Thanks so much ladies - it ain't pretty but we're making it through!

@Cherrybee: I love the afternoon bath idea! Maybe being in the steamy room will help me too. If I give her some kitchen items or something to play with in the bath M will probably think it's hilarious.

@snowjewelz: That's a great IG account! I'll have to look through it. Thanks so much!

@oliviaoblivia: OMG sick and pregnant (plus 2 kids) definitely takes the cake :( I'm so grateful that I can finally take cold meds since J just weaned. I hope you're feeling better soon and I can't wait to "meet" your newest beautiful child!

Oh, and thanks for the pizza tip! Killed some time making it and made a yummy lunch :)

@KayKay: Forts are on the afternoon plan! And how I wish I had a gym membership! I would be all over that childcare.

@oliviaoblivia: @cherrybee: afternoon baths are a great idea! hadn't thought of that.

i've also been known to take them to the free childcare at the gym and then not actually work out! ha.

Screentime and building "forts". The best fort I have found is pulling all of the cushions off the family room furniture and putting them on the floor (so like a floor of cushions). And letting them jump on the part of the couch exposed. It entertained my 2 for a good 2x30min one day!

Right there with you... and 38 weeks pregnant. The past week and a half has been hell.

I keep forbidden toys for days like this. Playdoh, paint, etc. Things that I'm usually not interested in cleaning up but that will keep my preschooler busy for a long time.

We take afternoon baths so the steam helps my cold and theirs.

We make pizzas and cookies.

And count the hours until DH comes home.
Hope you're feeling better soon.

Ugh I'm sorry. That's just no fun at all- and I hear you on the screen time. My almost 2.5 year old will watch tv all day but then her behavior is much worse so it backfires on me anyway. I don't have any advice just commiseration. I hope you can at least get a double nap so you can rest too.

* I follow her, if you can muster some energy to set up something for your older?

K right now loves just going to down digging into our drawers/containers with 'adult' things... Like old credit cards, post-its, random things... Can you throw together a bin too to entertain the younger?

Oh, that's terrible. I'm so sorry. I struggle keeping one child entertained all day when I'm not sick!

I find afternoon baths are good fun. I can sit on the toilet and watch while she plays with toys, bubbles and foam soap. Building dens is also a good game, especially if I can get her to go in the den and stay there for a while!

Get well soon.

I could really use a sick day today, but it's one of my SAH days instead. How am I going to keep 2 kids (13 months and 3yo) entertained when I can barely move? I'm definitely not opposed to screen time but it's not going to help with the baby and the 3yo will be insane if she watches TV for hours on end. We woke up to snow and a thick layer of ice on the road so we're not going anywhere and I can't ask anyone to come over  . Is is bedtime yet???
