We have a pretty flex schedule (girls are almost 3, and 4.5 months). Little one sleeps on the go - even when we are home she naps like 30-40 min tops so I don't feel so guilty. She loves the ring sling anyway.

Aside from that we try to get out every day even if only to target or my mom's house. Friday morning she has music class.

@winniebee: yeah since my youngest isn't super consistent yet I left a lot.out and disn't remember to account for every nursing session but whatever. Basically, we stick to DD1'S schedule and DD2 has to deal lol once she becomes a more consistent napper, I'm sure we'llI've some things around a bit but I'll probably aim for at least one home nap and the othera can be car naps for her if necessary. i figure she will adapt. That's the life of a second child I guess.

My break down is an example of a "perfect" day, which rarely happens. I'm generally not in bed until 10 and kitchen clean up takes closer to 45 minutes.

We only have a loose schedule but we do activities in the morning (Playgroup on Mon and Wed, music class on Fri) so we aim to leave the house by 0915 and we spend our afternoons at home so my big girl can nap (she's 31 months). On the days we don't have activities I'm going to start taking the kids and the dog out for a walk to the park. My wee guy s still not the consistent with his naps so I try to do as much housework stuff (tidying, showering etc) while he's awake.

Gah I didn't really account for all of the times I nurse baby bro or do chores LOL. Basically that happens periodically throughout the day.

@Mrs. Lion: I am not! B has always been an early riser though and I actually make him stay in bed until 5am. E has a fear of missing out so she wakes as soon as she hers her big bro. So after 6 years of waking between 4-5am (sometimes 6 if I'm lucky), my body is use to it! If I'm not up with them, they play loudly and wake up N :meh:

@HLK208: Are you a naturally early riser? How do you manage the 5am wake up? I really want to get up before the kids and go for a run, but I would have to be up at 5 and I just cant seem to pull myself out of bed :( Tell me your tricks! hehe

So my days are a little different since B is older (he's 6, E is 3 and N is 10 months)

5am: wake up with E & B - have them make their beds, read or play quietly while I get ready
6am: breakfast, make lunch
6:30: brush their teeth, get them ready for the day
7am: N wakes, get her dressed, feed her breakfast
8am: leave for school
8:30: drink coffee and play
10am: put N down for a nap, do laundry, clean 1-2 rooms
11am: do some kind of educational activity with E
Noon: N wakes, lunch time
12:30: E naps, play time with N
1:50pm: pick up B from school
2:30pm: snacks, homework
3pm: play outside, go to the park, go on a walk
4pm: N naps
5pm: make dinner
6pm: eat, baths, brush teeth, reading
7:30: bed time

This is usually 3 days out of the week? We usually have some play dates, t-ball games, shopping to get done somewhere in there.

Y'all seem much busier than me! R is almost 3 and S is 1.

7/7:30-8 -both up. Nurse DS and we all hang in my bed until 8.
8:30- breakfast
9-11/11:30- S naps and DD plays around the house. On Tuesdays she does story time with Grandmama.
12- lunch
1:30-3:30/4- both nap
5/5:30- supper
6ish- family walk
7- both in bed. Nurse S before bed.

If we go out in the am I try and get S up by 11. Also we live close to my mum so we go to her house often and DS takes his first nap there enabling us to have more time out.

Ooh I was actually getting ready to write a post about this because we finally found a groove and I wanted to document it before it changes hehe.

Try as I might, the 2 year old will absolutely not sleep later than 6, so it is what it is. He has breakfast with hubs while I get an extra 30 minutes of sleep or get the baby if she is awake. If she is still sleeping we wake her up at 6:30

6:30 - baby's first feeding, play time for toddler in the living room while hubs gets ready for work.

7:00/7:30 - baby goes down for first nap, toddler starts independent playtime in his room

7:30-8:30 - I frantically do as much as I can while toddler is playing in his room. I try to squeeze in a 20 minute Jillian Michaels video , a shower, and the chores I cant let the toddler help with (bathrooms, dishwasher, etc.)

8:30-9:00 Finish chores, or play outside in the backyard or go for a walk, depending on whether the baby has woken up from her first nap.

9:00-12:30 - Out somewhere. Baby eats between 9:30 and 10, and then catnaps at some point during this time. Usually we go to the YMCA and I work at a cafe table while the kids are in the nursery, or we go to a playground and out to lunch with dh or a friend.

12:30 - lunch if we didn't eat already while we were out

1:00 -3:30 - toddler naps, baby eats at 1, I finish stuff around the house, shower if I didn't earlier, or plant myself on the couch for a bit. Baby naps from 2-4ish.

3:30 -5:00 - play outside, feed baby at 4, start dinner

5:00 - finish cooking and eat dinner. baby plays on mat or in bouncer

6:00-7:00 - go for a walk, play outside, or tv/play inside if the weather is bad.

6:45-7:30 bath for baby, then last feeding and in crib

7:00-7:40 bath for toddler, then stories and in bed

Then breathe, clean up kitchen and house pick up, then tv with dh and bed.

Im tired just writing that all down. It is totally not this predictable every day, but we are usually within 30 minutes of these times.

As for naps for the second kid, i aim for 2 naps at home and try not to worry about the screwy one in the mid morning. Not sure yet how this will shift when we are down to just 2 naps.

On a average (good) weekday:
7am: DD1 wakes up for the day. Snuggle in our bed while DH & I catch a few more ZZZssss
715-730: DD2 wakes up and I nurse her. Meanwhile DD1 and DH go downstairs to take the dog out, feed her, feed DD1 a light breakfast
8:00-930a- I get coffee for myself while the girls play downstairs. I make a breakfast for 3 of us and a smoothie for DH & I. Get his lunch ready if it wasn't packed the night before. Throw in some laundry, finish up any dishes from the night before. DH leaves for work
930-1030 somewhere in there DD2 takes a 30 minute morning nap. DD1 watches a episode of Curious George and gets a morning snack in the later part of 1000-1030.
1030-1130/1200 - we go play in the backyard or go for a walk to the "mountain" until it's time to head back inside to make lunch.
1200-100 - I make lunch for all of us
100-230 - On a good day I put DD2 down for a nap and she naps for an hour in her crib and fingers crossed DD1 falls asleep on the couch while watching a show!
230-300 - DD2 gets a afternoon snack while I do dinner prep and some house stuff. DD1 either plays up stairs with me in her walker or downstairs with big sister
300-430 We play outside
430-500 we come back inside and DD1 might get a light snack while I get dinner started and some laundry and cleaning done
600-630- DH gets home and we have dinner
630-700 - Time to give DD2 a bath before bedtime
700-715 - story time in DD2's room then I put DD2 down. DD1 hangs out with daddy downstairs. They usually watch a show together then he gives her a bath.
800-900pm bedtime for DD2 depending on if there was a nap that day
930p - hopefully both girls are asleep and we get peace and quiet for an hour before DD2 wakes up and I need to nurse her
1030p - DD2 wakes up, I nurse her then head off to bed
Ensue 50million wake ups every 2 hours.

Rinse and repeat

On the weekends if we're out and about we try to be home by 1pm for DD2's afternoon nap. It's usually her best one so we try not to mess with it. This weekend we'll be at a amusement park so I'll be bringing the carrier and stroller and hoping she takes the both or at least the afternoon nap in the stroller!

I'm not a SAHM of two, but your schedule sounds great! Seems like little bro gets plenty of opportunities to nap without it taking away from big bro's day. DS used to nap on the go a lot and it never bothered him so that's always an option if you want to do longer outings. As long as that's something your baby can tolerate. Some need more of a routine than others.

Right now it's something like this:

7 am - everyone is up for the day (baby wakes earlier than big bro). Big bro gets a show while I make breakfast and get organized.

7:30 / 8 - breakfast

8:30 - 10 - baby bro down for nap. Big bro has free play and I clean up and play with him some.

10-12 - outside time. usually I run in the jogging stroller and end up with the kids at the park. otherwise we might go to an outing (local farm, splash pad etc).

12:15 - baby bro down for a nap

12:30 - lunch for mom and big bro.

12:30 - whenever baby wakes up - outside time in the backyard

3/4 - run errands if needed - baby bro might have a third nap in the car. if no errands to run, both boys playing inside -- big bro does art, play dough, sand.

5 - start making dinner, big bro has a show, baby bro might be cat napping if he didn't take a car nap. if dad is home early he takes the kids outside.

6 - dinner

6:45/7 - baths

715/730 - bed time for baby bro

8 - bed time for big bro

When we do big outings like museum, beach, farm....baby brother tends to just cat nap and his schedule gets all screwy. I guess that's just life for the second child?

SAHMs of 2+ what does your day look like? How old are your kids?

Now that R is almost 6 months and getting on a sort of schedule, I'm struggling to structure our days since we try to be home for his naps. T is 3 years old and doesn't nap anymore. He goes to school 2x a week but that's over for the year in a few weeks.
