I wake up before him at 5:30-6am. I can hear him from a few doors down and watch him on the monitor. I try to get ready before he gets up, then go in, feed him, and change him for daycare.

After dropping him off, I wash the bottles, make my lunch, and go. I need to get my lunch ready at night to cut my morning prep time down.

I WAHM part of the week, and my moms watches him at our home the rest of the week, we NEVER wake him up.

He's been STTN since 12 weeks 11+ hours, no wakes/feedings.

It's varied depending on wonder weeks, teething, but for the most part DS has slept 7pm-6/7am since then (he's almost 8 months now).

In the last month, he's done a lil twist! He sleeps 630-6, nurses for 20-30 minutes, then he sleeps again until 8/830! He also dropped to two naps this past week or two. one usually around 1030/11 and another at 230/3.

Yes! LO is up at 7:30 on the days I WAH. If he gets up later, then he won't go down for his morning nap. On the days that I go into work and take him to my BFF's, he's up at 6:30. He usually takes longer naps on those days.

@birdofafeather: she is usually up on her own in the mornings, but I might have to wake her up from a nap if I have to go pick up my 3 year old so I always have to adjust.

I never wake the kids up. They wake up on their own and usually within an hour of each other.
DS goes down for nap 1, 1.5-2 hours after he wakes.
2nd nap happens around 2 hours after he wakes from nap 1.
He stays up fr about 3 hours then it's bed time.
He usually goes down at 5-5:30 and will sleep til 3:30-5:30am, wake to eat and sleep til 7-8am.

Repeat!

@shopaholic: got it! we're at that now, but i know we could be at 1/night, but she's all over the place lately! later wouldn't work because we go more by her last nap and pushing that wouldn't work. she would get super cranky and sleep worse. :/

@MrsF: ok, take it back. that's great. :) she's done 8-6 a couple times and we would definitely take that over the random times in the MOTN.

@autumnlove: yeah, i think she needs 12 hrs. that's definitely her MO. it is hard because we also don't have a consistent bedtime because of our loose schedule. so i've been going on her timeline. i mean, we're really talking about the difference of an hour or so, no more than that.

@birdofafeather: Well, everyone's definition of STTN is different, but she goes 12+ hours with 1-2 wakings to feed. So she is waking at 6:30 when you want 7:30? Have you tried moving her night-time routine a little bit later?

@Andrea: since she usually has to be awake by a certain time, does she usually sleep until that time? i have it in my mind that by her having a "goal" she would sleep until that time or closer to it. rather than waking up at 6:30, which is so close to what i would be okay with at 7:30? but i put her back down and she's out because 6:30 is no good! :)

@Weagle: i think i might need to do that again! it's hard to follow through with when i'm exhausted and want another 30 minutes too! does she STTN?

@zippylef: i would love to do this (leave her, etc)! she's so inconsistent with her night wakings (last week, on different nights, she slept 9 hours in a row, then woke up at midnight screaming, only woke once, woke twice and then last night woke up 3 times with one being at 6:30 screaming!) i'm hoping by getting her back on a regular time, she'll go back to waking up happy and smiling because she knows what time she's supposed to get up?

@shopaholic: dude, if she were STTN, i wouldn't worry! :)

We're also very loose-schedule people, and I think I'm one of the few who has a very late sleeper (just like her parents). I don't wake her in the morning, unless there is somewhere we need to be. Even then, if she hasn't woken, I'll try my best to wait until the last minute to get her, and try not to disturb her. She is not a good daytime napper though, and I believe it's because she sleeps in so late. I think if I did wake her up every day at the same time and implemented a nap schedule, she'd do pretty well with it. We've had her night-time routine set in place since 2 weeks and it works great. She STTN.

Yes, I set my alarm for 8:15, but she normally wakes me up right at 8 on the dot. If she sleeps in, I take a few minutes to wake myself up and get her up by 8:30.

When she was little, I wouldn't get her until 8. There was many a morning where she woke up at 7:30 and I left her until 8. She wakes up happy 95% of the time, so it was never an issue. I didn't want to promote her waking up super early.

I'm a (newly) WAHM and trying to get a handle on sleep, etc. We are very loose schedule people, but I'm realizing that I need to get a routine down to get my work done! I'm not necessarily worried about the time of the day, but just routine and keeping things somewhat consistent. I know when LO was younger, she was getting up at 7:30 almost on the dot on her own because we got her up then for a while. now we're anywhere from 7:30-8:30, usually around 8:15.

If you SAH or WAH, do you wake LO up at the same time every day? I would assume WOHMs need to wake their LO up at the same time every day to leave on time, so that's why i didn't include them in this question!

Follow up: if you do wake them up at the same time, do you feel it helps with their overall day/night sleep? if you don't wake them up at a set time, are they STTN?
