Miss A most often wakes around the 7am mark, we spend 30-45 minutes chilling in bed then I change and dress her for the day. We then go downstairs and I have breakfast and start the washing while she plays on the floor and we hang out.

Sometime between 0830 and 0900 A goes back down for a nap so I jump in the shower, make the bed and do chores. If she sleeps longer I spend the time relaxing and playing with the dog so he doesn't feel neglected!

Next waking we usually take the dog for a 45-60 minute walk (we go in any weather) and then she might hang out in her exersaucer or play on the floor again.

Nap two means lunchtime for me and maybe dinner prep and some more relaxing and housework.

For the next wake time I feed her her solids which takes a chunk of time and then we do more hanging out until DH gets home and he takes over baby duty! I will usually have a tidy up and start dinner once DH gets home and some days Miss A will take a third nap later in the afternoon. Of course we also nurse and do diaper changes during the day and j should mention that Miss A is now commando crawling so I have to keep z pretty close eye on her!

I try to get out of the house two or three days a week, we go to music class on a Tuesday, coffee group every other week and we visit friends or my parents, and have play dates too. Mondays we do the grocery shopping in the late morning.

Some days are busier than others and whilst I like getting out of the house it's also nice to have days when we don't have to be anywhere and we can just chill and do out own thing :-)

Once LO gets a wee bit older I'm hoping to volunteer for our local Parents Centre or Plunket.

We wake up, I play with him for a little bit and then he plays independently with toys/in walker/in jumperoo while I eat breakfast, clean things up. Then he eats breakfast which takes awhile (not super long). During his first nap ill usually take a shower and get ready for the day.

After nap #1 we usually leave the house. We run errands, take walks, go to the park or meet with my mom. Then nap #2.

After nap #2 I usually play with him outside or inside (he loves being outside and playing on a blanket while I work in the garden, etc. He also usually eats again. I take nap #3 with him most days.

After nap #3 he plays with daddy while I make dinner, we eat, we'll go to the park down the street altogether or do something at home and then it's bedtime at 7!

I also find myself counting down until naps sometimes but I've found that as long as we get out of the house at least once a day it goes much easier :)

It's very repetitive but we:

Go on walks
Go to the store
Read
Play with toys
Tummy time
Gymboree Class on Mondays
Soon we will be doing story time at the library.
Listen to music
Eat
Bath time
Hang out with friends
Paint

C and I spend a lot of time out of the house. Right now, we wake up around 8/8:30, eat breakfast, 3 days a week I work out in the morning with a stroller group, on Tuesdays we go to baby sign language class. When we're home, meals tend to take up a good 45 minutes or so (takes much longer now that she's weaned and feeds herself), she still takes 2 1.5/2 hr naps, play time is usually a mix of independent play and us playing together on the floor, we listen to a lot of music. She used to spend quite a bit of time in the jumperoo, but now she just plays on her own during those times when I need to get something done (she has lots of toys, plus an activity table, a walker and a wooden activity cube). Then it's dinner and bedtime at 6:30/7.

I think independent play is a wonderful thing and it helps foster creativity and imagination, plus it teaches them how to entertain themselves. I don't think it's really necessary to feel like we have to constantly stimulate them.

pretty much groundhog day, lol!

we start the day with her playing solo in the pnp while I do any dishes from the night before and eat breakfast..

then it's shower for me if she's napping, or shower for me while she hangs in the RNP and then bath for her.

awake time - we play on the floor, do some tummy time, once a day she'll get 20-30m in the jumperoo, some independent play in the pnp.

we will run errands in between naps sometimes, or go visit my mom!

When he's awake, we're either playing on the floor, going out for walks/running errands/to meet friends for lunch, or he's in the jumperoo or exersaucer while I do dishes, throw in laundry, etc. I definitely find myself counting down the minutes til naptime sometimes! I find that singing to him (we have the toddler radio Pandora station on all the time) makes the day go by faster!

I am a new SAHM to a 5.5 month old, and I run out of stuff to do with him so quickly! We get on the floor to roll around, the jumperoo, take walks, but that only takes up so much of the day? What is your day like?
